It's funnier that The Daily Show uses tons of clips from Fox News just to make fun of them. I'd say it makes up 10% of the content on TDS.

And that most of the clips barely need commentary to serve as high-quality comedy. Stewart must wake up every day thanking the heavens that Fox News exists.

chimp_ninja: Stewart must wake up every day thanking the heavens that Fox News exists.

He also has some good researchers. I agree that quite often no commentary is needed, but the "WTF?" source of the humor often arises from the juxtaposition of current and previous clips. Poor fellas who have to sift through that...

There's a difference?

honestly, i feel i get better news coverage from TDS and Colbert.

so go kick some more ass, you tiny tiny funnyman, you.

Fake news isn't a good way to put shows like that, they're making jokes about news that actually did occur. More like real news, but with jokes.

America, we are farked.

/Not because TDS is popular, but because Fox News is so trusted by the mouth breathers

Right... compared to daytime viewers. A timeframe no one cares about.

Wow, turns out that regular people would rather laugh along with an intelligent person about current events than shout along with an angry idiot about current events....
Too bad so few of them vote.

Gotta love the left. The fact that they hold the TDS in such high regard shows how backwards ass retarded they are.

.. I guess I should take this seriously, since it's clear you're well versed in getting backwards ass retarded content. I'd even call you an expert on the topic, the way you've bought into it.

According to TVNewser, Fox News averaged 1.868 million total viewers in prime time compared to 2.3 million for The Daily Show.

Wow. More people watch the Daily Show than tune in to Fox during the entirety of their prime-time programming.

Mitt is gonna be the easiest candidate ever to show switching positions.

Usually Jon has to go back months, even years to show a candidate contradicting himself. With Romney, that period is going to be down to hours, even days.

As long as the GOP is this bafflingly retarded, TDS is shooting fish in a barrel.

So you're a shill that can't read. Please, let's add a third level of idiocy. Are you just "asking questions" now? Or is Obama a Muslikenansocialcommiefascist? Are college "liberal brainwashing facilities"? Come on, you've got to have another one in there.

Neither Roger Ailes nor Megyn Kelly is going to have sex with them, but the white knights cannot leave their Fox News in distress. It is best to let them plant their flag and walk on.

Let's not overstate the principles of Roger. Roger Ailes would have sex with them for the right price.

Hint: The right price is in units of Crisco.

Don't get me wrong, but what show is "Fox news?" I think it would be more impressive if they showed that TDS beat out a half hour of O'Reilly, not just an average of Fox's shiatty programming.

Funny when haters call TDS "fake news". As it turns out, this fake news program happens to teach more information about whats going on in the world to its viewership than Fox does. What does that say about Fox news being actual news?

To be fair to FOX News, it's not that their programming is getting worse, it's just that their viewers are just finally starting to die off.

FOX's demo charts tell a pretty ugly story. A hefty majority of their viewers, if I recall correctly, are over 55 or 60.

I think you've pretty much honed that formula down to near perfection. Except on Saturdays. I don't care what anyone says, "Wait, Wait don't tell me" IS funny.

I read the other day where 'Real 'Merkans' aren't watching Fox News because Fox has stopped towing the GOP line with sufficient gusto.

I was skeptical until I saw Chris Wallace interviewing McCain about Gamechanger and pointing out that Steve Schmidt says the movie is fairly accurate after McCain claimed the whole thing is a fabrication.

2012-03-13 09:03:07 PM
The Daily Show is also globally syndicated, to large audiences (and that's not including the Global Edition)

Fox News is only watched outside the US by slackjawed Europeans in amazement, in the manner of Victorians going to the circus to see the bearded lady lick herself and testament to how depraved humanity can be.

In 2008, soon after the election, I was going to post in a right-wing heavy forum asking "ok, seriously now, the Palin love? That was just an act right? Right?"

Only there was already a post claiming the liberal MSM lamestream media was attacking Palin. In it, Carl Cameron was saying how close aides were telling stories about how she was stupid. They said Cameron was a liberal journalist that hated Palin. I had to point out to them that he was a Fox News journalist with a documented conservative bias.

With some of the idiocies that are pushed and become ingrained in the populace, comedy shows of the Daily Show and Colbert Report nature are a welcome breath of fresh air. At points it gets easy to believe that all the sane and rational people died off, and all we are left with is reactionary caricatures trying to sell us something.

If TDS is beating Fox News, it must be absolutely obliterating MSNBC and CNN. Didn't read the article but I betcha it doesn't mention that.

So TDS only has 700,000 less viewers than O'Reilly and everyone is whipped up into a frenzy? Wow what an accomplishment.
