It was a justified beating. She had a Justin Bieber doll.

2012-03-12 01:23:34 PM
FTA: "A deputy photographed her injuries, including swollen bruises on the top of her head and elbow and a purple bruise on the left side of her rib cage, the affidavit said."

You know what this means. Two weeks paid administrative leave.

What. The. Fark.

Him: She threw a doll on my foot and it hurt a whole bunch.
Her: Here are the pictures of my injuries.

I think I'm going to believe her more at this time...

2012-03-12 01:25:24 PM
Frankly I'd be to embarrassed to report this.
Now if it was a Chewbacca doll or an X-Men doll....that's a different story.

2012-03-12 01:26:00 PM
Officer, she just wanted to see U Smile.

2012-03-12 01:26:32 PM
Ok, I think I got it now. A "Bieber" is a Barbie accessory. Now I see why all the little girls are excited to get one. I guess.

Woman needs beaten just for having the damn doll. Going back to RTFA now

Why is that dude feeling up....actually you know what, I'm good, and I'm fine with not knowing.

One of my friends got a cardboard cut out life size version of him from one of her friends as a prank. She cut it up Dexter style. They sent another one, and I'm awaiting the next video.

Having read TFA, I'm led to believe that the cop is batshiat crazy. Probably from the lack of oxygen way up there in Denver.

Man up Nuanes.

Must have a delicate foot.

Police Internal Affairs divisions should be disbanded and replaced with a public office of Municipal Employee Standards with full investigative powers and the authority to discipline wrongdoers. Allowing police to keep other cops within the law has turned into a good old boy setup with public disclosure on only the most heinous events. When a citizen is charged with an offense, the arrest and court information is public knowledge , why should cops be exempt?

Dear Pig,

The justification used to beat people down in the work field, may not work in your real life. It's easy to claim some simple need of self-defense and then respond with force greater than the person who threatened you could ever muster at work, but at home too?. Such as the 9 year old who was 'large for his size' getting tazed. That's work mentality where 'The defendant looked/peered/glared at me and they were holding a car key/banana/feather so I had to kick/punch/taze/shoot them' is effective. Hopefully judges are quick to realize that violence not even comensurate with the threat is needed to turn pigs into good police staters on duty, it shouldn't be allowed in the home.

Came for remarks about her deserving it. Leaving with images of Justin Bieber touching himself that need to be clawed out of my mind.

That lifesize bieber doll is amazing, can't wait to order one of those!

Well, "Bieber" is an anagram for "Barbie."

Not really, but you had to check for a minute, didn't you?

I think my favorite part is where he texts her and tells her she needs to take the fall for the 'domestic violence incident'... "I'll take care of your kids while you're in jail if you'll do this for me, baby!"

A little old to be playing with dolls. A little stupid to be dating someone who plays with dolls.

The issue is that with many "citizens review" boards they end up stacked with those who think the Cops can do no wrong or the ones that think all Cops are evil. resulting in a more screwed up system. They usually end up more political than an HOA in a retirement community. I have seen some development of a hybrid board that involves Citizens and LEOs it has promise but so far the ones I have seen can only make "recommendations"

The girlfriend said that she didn't want Nuanes to get in trouble or go to jail, but she said that he needs help, the affidavit said.

The you deserve every farking thing you get.

She told the deputy that she was not afraid of her boyfriend

That explains the hiding in teh bathroom part.

The girlfriend said that she had photographs of her injuries from past abuse and beatings.

Yeah. Enjoy your life of beatings as well as all of you other dumasses that stick with beaters.

2012-03-12 02:25:36 PM
Sigh.

The whole police thing is really irrelevant to this. The dude is a first-rate douchebag and needs some jail time, and the girl is classically enabling him.

Otherwise, the guy should know that you never, EVER fight old people or women. Even if you remove the morality of it, let's say your wife/girlfriend/FWB decides to get mad and throw down, and you oblige her. If you lose, congratulations, you lost to a girl. OTOH, if you win, you know what? You just BEAT UP A GIRL.

Just farking leave. No good is going to come of the fight. Get the hell out of there, whether it be in a vehicle or on foot. If the other person is being truly violent, run out into the night screaming like a girl to draw attention if you must, but just. farking. LEAVE.

Proportional response is the key to dealing with the smaller, physically weaker partner that you may have. Keep retaliation-discipline to a proportional level, relative to what was actually perpetrated on yourself, and you generally will not get into legal trouble with law enforcement. Now, the partner may be long gone, with battery charges filed against them and a heart full of hate, after you give them their "disciplining session" and then call the cops, but at least you will not go to jail or otherwise get criminal charges. I speak from experience.

FTFA same cop beat up a suspect. Department had to pay a $75,000 settlement.

Also FTFA - same cop took pictures of hookers' genitalia.

I'm sure that THIS time he'll be tossed off the police force, since everyone knows that cops always get rid of the (very few) "bad apples" quickly and efficiently. I'm just stunned that it took three (reported) incidents. Shocked, I tells ya.

Guess I am a woman then even though my dangly bits seems to disagree.

Do you really think If I beat up my GF that I would have a 1500 bond? Rape victims usually scratch their assailants too. Should they be held accountable for wounding the rapist?

if i walked up to a 20 year old arnold swartzenager, hit him, then he proceeds to beat my ass, i would go to jail despite the fact that i couldnt really hurt him.

why does a vagina change that calculus? do women not have moral agency?

Denver has an Independent monitor that oversees the police and sheriif's department.

When a citizen is charged with an offense, the arrest and court information is public knowledge , why should cops be exempt?

Cops aren't exempt from anything when they're charged with a crime. It's public information. What IS private are internal investigations and penalties. Personnel issues are private for everyone, not just cops.

Exactly. It isn't punishment but rather "constructive reinforcement". The carrot works for most problems so they save the stick for really bad offenses like failing to stay on the right side of the blue line.
