I came in here to biatch about people who are given ungodly amounts of money and blow it all on a ridiculous lifestyle, but then I read

Dinki: She willingly paid the taxes she owed, and gave lots to charity. And she still has more money than she will ever need.

So yeah, good on her. The fact that she is paying her share of the taxes she owes instead of weaseling out of them puts her ahead of most uber-rich US folks, including certain presidential candidates.

This is what a decent human being looks like.

I'm glad she turned over her earnings to its rightful owner, the UK government.

She is in fact working on an "adult" version.

"Hairy Cooter And The Deathly Hollows."

It's scheduled to hit theaters at about the same time as the all male "Lord Of The Cock Rings".

How on earth did she get rich writing such derivative trash? Wasn't there already an overload of hack literature for children?

I've actually had people tell me that Harry Potter is superior to A Song of Ice and Fire, which makes me wonder if the human race deserves to continue....

LordZorch: How on earth did she get rich writing such derivative trash? Wasn't there already an overload of hack literature for children?

Harry Potter isn't really my bag and I can't speak to the quality of the books but she got rich because through the movies she made a lot of other people rich. No one in their right mind would think that guys deserve million dollar contracts for throwing a ball around but if it makes even more money for the team owners then the ball throwers deserve it. That's only fair. The quality of her writing has nothing to do with it.

The thing about Twilight is that I'm guessing their target demo of early teen girls and bored housewives is somewhat fickle. I don't think we'll be seeing any Twilight conventions in 10 years, whereas Harry Potter isn't going anywhere.

Song of Fire and Ice is shiatty trash built off of better, more original writers who weren't fat pieces of shiat who will die of a Big Mac heart attack before they could even finish a series.

The only reason that there are people who are all "oh my god this is amazing" who aren't people who consider cheeto dust to be masturbatory lube is because someone took his steaming pile of over worded "opus" is because a director with vision took the story (which is pretty much every story told since someone invented the concept of someone living in a castle) and added some real vision to it.

You don't have to read them to know, just bits and pieces. I can't find the site, but there's a gal that read the books and posts the grammatical inaccuracies, redundancies, and general poor writing.
