Don't Troll Me Bro!: The other day Santorum said that nothing changed in human existence for 2000 years, then America came along and gave us modern life. Yeah, nothing happened to improve the human condition for 2000 years... no major advancements.... right. Sad thing is people just eat that shiat up. This country is fixated on making ourselves believe that we are gods compared to the rest of civilization, no matter what lies we must tell ourselves, no matter how bad the cognitive dissonance, many of us will do/say anything to hold onto our false beliefs.

You know what really bugs me? I live and work in Las Vegas. Sometimes the tourists go off the Strip and wander around like tourist do. When they do that, they usually run into the 55% of Las Vegans who cannot read or write, and you cannot imagine my embarrassment when some dirty oily redneck starts to flaunt his 'superiority' in front of tourists from Britain or France.

I remember once working as an utility porter when I was waiting for an elevator to open so I could polish the marble flooring. It took a long time and when it finally opened, a bunch of men spilled out, some of them unconscious. Inside the elevator was this French couple holding their fists up and looking like they were having a great time. Some vacationing hillbillies had followed them into the elevator and attempted to rob them as a joke. The hillbillies then got their asses kicked. The French couple weren't big time MMA types or anything like that. They were just normal folks who worked out. But after security and the EMTs got there, and I was giving my statement, I overheard one of the hillbillies mutter, "They're French. They didn't surrender."

It's pretty strange how we classify 'illness'.

If we accept that 90% of the world now believes in a 'sky wizard' and, historically, that number was even higher; it would be pretty easy to make an argument that people *lacking faith* are the ones suffering from a mental illness.

Normally, it's not enough for something to be 'rare', it isn't an illness unless it puts you at some sort of disadvantage; but I'm pretty sure enough people would argue that lacking a type of religious faith would put you at a disadvantage. I have read studies that found people could tolerate higher levels of pain while saying a prayer than doing most anything else.
