osgeek: How touching that your bigotry turned out to be incorrect and you found something good about it.

Substitute "older" and "gentlem*n" for "black" and "wom*n" talking about a Popeyes chicken commercial offering free chicken and how you were surprised that they weren't all that interested in free chicken.

Then you'll understand a little bit of what a hypocrite you are.

Ah, don't turn this around on me. I'm not the bigot, many of the people around me are. I was pleasantly surprised that I heard a non-bigoted statement, and I had every right to expect to hear the same thing I have heard over and over again in this area.

Would I be a bigot if I were on the set of a rap video and I unexpectedly heard two artists debating between Bentley and Porsche, only to find out they were discussing their 401K investment portfolios, or would I be merely surprised?

So you're saying that noticing a pattern of bad behavior in a race or class of people and then being surprised when random members of that class didn't evidence that pattern that you were expecting is not bigoted?

Please, keep going.

Fair enough, but in my defense, you're spreading your derp over even more threads than I am.

Now, let's gauge your integrity. Do you fess up and apologize for being a dumbass? Do you step away from your keyboard and think, "If I can't even know where I'm posting, how can I have any certainty over the positions that I advocate?"

No, I fess up and say I posted in the wrong thread. However, I have made what I believe to valid arguments refuting your assertions, and you are forced to point out that I have posted in the wrong thread, rather than make arguments against my positions. Why? You have none.

Or do you just keep posting retarded old Spidey pics with lame ass captions?

I'm gonna go with the retarded old Spidey pics, TYVM.

i2.kym-cdn.com

Are you trying to get the smart or the funny vote on Fark with those? Is that the kind of validation that you look for in your day?

I don't think I've even looked at "Smart" or "Funny" voting since the first week it started. And I don't look for validation on the Internet, I look for humor and occasionally valid debate on various topics.

Why are you here? And why do you have no response to my points?

It wasn't "race" or "class", it was "age", "religion", and "geographic location". But please, you keep going.

"Prejudice" and "bigotry" are two different things. I am a very prejudiced person, i.e., I do make judgements based on limited data. (Hmmm, if I walk into that neighborhood at night with the beat-up cars and burned-out streetlight, I might be more likely to get robbed than if I go the longer way around). However, I'm not bigoted - I don't think I'm "better" than other people due to arbitrary reasons like race, income, or sexuality.

I've made arguments in this thread, such as "At this point I have no idea what sort of ads the Democrats could run that would be more effective than just giving the cash to the Republicans and letting them run even more of their own ads."

Not only have you failed to refute arguments such as this, you've resorted to personal attack because you have no valid response.

As far as being "funny", that's why I post on Fark instead of HuffPo or one of the liberal rags - I like having the snark. I think most Farkers would agree that if you don't like snark in your political discussion, you need to move on somewhere else.

B. A spidey pic is not a "point" or an "argument".

Of course not. It's funny, though.

C. My mom told me not to talk to hypocritical bigots.

Well, sir, if that is the label you choose to bestow upon me, I would consider it an honor to join your ignore list. Here's another Spidey pic for you:

what happens if pro-Obama super pacs start placing ads on Rush's show? Can Rush deny them on content?

Gosh, that would be pretty wonderful. Imagine what it would do to Rush's regular listeners.

Jeez, you don't even know what an argument is. What you did up there is make a claim. A claim is really no better than an unfounded opinion in that context.

Exactly what is someone supposed to respond to? Hell, your claim may even be correct. I don't necessarily disagree with it or find offense in it. I'm not a Republican.

The really funny thing is that you picked that out from the brilliance of your posts as being the one worth repeating for me to respond to.

Let me put it this way. The church my sister and her family attend has about 100 people in attendance on an average Sunday. The recently took up a collection to help fund their purchase of the 1.75 acres next door, in order that they have a place to build a fellowship hall.

The first thing that made me scratch my head is that the tiny parcel of land is selling for $320,000. The second thing is that they received $34,000 in the one special offering, and now will only have to finance about $50,000.

These people are devoted to their churches.

I think you could add to the discussion by showing an example of a good attempt at conservative humor - i.e., something that displays liberal hypocrisy or conflict of ideals. Instead, you're all, "Waaah! The liberals are picking on me! Waaahhh!!! They disagree with the way I feel!!! Waaaaahh!!! And there are more of them!!! Waaahhhh!!!! I agree. Reagan could be funny, even about political stuff. His recording on the "evils of socialism" was rather popular, although it was not intended to be funny. But he was perfectly capable of laughing at himself, and was funny when he wanted to be.

jake_lex: All this derp is probably going to cost them this election, but you've got to wonder how it's going to affect the future of the Republican Party as well. I mean, the Birther thing completely ended whatever small, tentative steps they were making to appeal to black voters. Embracing draconian anti-immigration measures has hurt them badly with Hispanic voters, and now all this derp chasing off women.

I think in the short term (up to 10 years or so) Republicans are going to ratchet up the derp even more. When they lose in November (and they're going to lose big) they'll only see it as a sign that the country is even more infested with satanic left-wingers than they thought.

It's all aimed at keeping the scared old white people vote, and, true, those people vote more than any other. But they won't be voting that much longer.

Which is why they want to install the theocracy now. They're running out of time.
