No matter how hard he tries, his body size can't keep pace with his ego size.

You're a public servant, man, can't you just shut up for a second?

Why do they want to rename Rutgers? And when does Cory Booker take over?

I'm no Christie fan, but geez... you get a chance to put him to the question and the only major issue you can think to ask about is a name change for Rutgers University? Pathetic.

2012-03-10 11:07:25 AM
The two got into a debate over a plan to rename Rutgers University, Rutgers Camden-Rowan. Brown, who is active in Democratic Party politics, says the merger and name change would negatively affect the university's reputation.
After Christie says that Brown and his fellow classmates who are already enrolled at the university will still receive a Rutgers diploma, Brown interrupts him, shouting back, "What about my son? What about my neighbors? What about my friends?"

There's that "Fark you, I got mine!" Republican reasoning at work. Utterly irrelevant response to the student's point.

It's not the "real" Rutgers in New Brunswick. It's Rutgers-Camden. They want to merge Rutgers-Camden and Rowan University so it'll be called "Rutgers-Camden Rowan."

Don't quite understand what all the fuss is about.

That's why the guy is so pissed off about the name change. He can tell his clients that he went to "Rutgers" even though it was the commuter-college version. With a new name, even his clients could figure out he's a night-school lawyer.

2012-03-10 11:14:06 AM
Why are they changing the name to begin with? Is it due to a change in administration/direction, or something that might actually have some validity in regard to the university's future reputation? Or is it a paid sponsorship, like a stadium? Because nothing will lend gravitas to a diploma ten years down the line, than to have it be issued by Rutgers Gold Bond Medicated Crotch Powder University.

I can care no less than I do right now about Rutgers-Camden-Brown-Johnson or whatever. What an odd thing to get outraged about. Alma Mater pride, I guess. At any rate, Fat Boy could have handled himself better. But his type isn't known for self-control.

Oh, shut-up, fatties. I was referring to his Irish ancestry.

Oh so because he works for 'you', you have a free pass to take up as much time as you want to arguing in a public forum, and can never be told to shut up.

I shall be sending outspoken Republicans to every campaign appearance Obama makes and he must stand there talking to them until they've had their say and he may not ever tell them to shut up... because... Hey, he works for us right?

I've witnessed some atrocious behavior by attorneys towards judges in New Jersey and have never once seen contempt even threatened. So there, Fatty McGoo.

You know who doesn't like it when people say things you don't like? Narcissists. I've found that those with narcissistic personality disorder often resort to bullying and even violence to get people to shut up. Screaming "Shut up" is as blatant a warning as you can get. No surprise that a governor would have a personality disorder.

What a passive agressive little biatch of a "Navy SEAL"

Don't ask a question if you're just gonna keep on talking when the guy gives you an answer.

2012-03-10 11:25:08 AM
Well, here is some context, but still edited

Link (new window)

"Just four questions in, Christie called on William Brown, a 34-year-old law school student and veteran from Mt. Laurel, ....Brown, a Democrat who ran an unsuccessfully for Assembly last year, says he's a Navy Seal who served in Iraq. "

So he is an active member of the opposing political party, which explains some of the dislike on his part, though whether Christy recognized him is unknown from this.

And he claims to be a veteran Navy seal. Has this been vetted? I assume it is true, but there are a lot of frauds claiming similar things.

By the way, this entire controversy is over taking the southern campus of Rutgers and merging it with Rowan and renaming it as Rowan. Rutgers has a better reputation and students current and future are concerned of the appearance of a lower class school in their diplomas. Though Rowan also has a good rep from what I understand. So basically it is snobs and would be snobs getting their manties in an uproar or prestige.

More_Like_A_Stain: Why are they changing the name to begin with?

Title bloat. In some circles, name length = quality (when usually the opposite is true).

My own alma mater's name at one point ballooned to something like State University of New York - College of Arts and Sciences at New Paltz, Where the Deadheads Live When They're Not On Tour.
