This goes both ways with the deficit against wombs. Who can talk the loudest about wanting control.

... Huh?

Do you think Obama wanting more and more for spending programs is going to help the left come November? Do you think the right wanting more and more control of a woman's womb is going to help them? Ergo, it goes both ways.

Does that help clarify?

From the bill: "Medical emergency....No such greater risk shall be deemed to exist if it is based on a diagnosis or claim of a mental or emotional condition of the pregnant woman or that the pregnant woman will purposefully engage in conduct which she intends to result in her death"

They'd literally rather have a woman kill herself than let her get an abortion.

But hey, if she decides not to, apparently she gets a free chicken.

I think I understand.

National Debt vs. War on Women come November. Correct?

When a man says "Let me tell you about pregnancy..." you are about to hear something really farking stupid.

That was my take as well after a couple of reads. Really poorly written but when you consider the underlying idea, the quality of the prose isn't surprising.

Sorry for my poor typing (or your lack of comprehension without charts or graphs). But is this not heading up to the left wanting more "comprehensive spending", and the right wanting "more(which amounts to less) control of healthcare including the inerds of females?" With some chickens and hogs thrown in for some reason.

I think you typed it pretty well but composed your idea poorly. My struggle to understand what you were saying was more a reflection of your failure to communicate clearly.

I also think you do the American people a disservice by equating the current Republican fetish for comparing women to livestock and legislating as if they were chattel to Democratic fiscal policy. Certainly the low information voters will be misled into believing that false equivalency but I don't believe that Americans, in general, are that poorly informed.

The part that caused me the scratch my head, (cause let's face it, nothing these batshiat crazy guys do, surprises me anymore) is the "fetal pain" bill part. If an infant is to be stillborn, it can feel no pain, as it is already deceased. Only the female carrier can. (Physical pain, anywho).

And c-sections are not without danger for the mother.

Gah! This whole country has lost it.

I've said this in here before-

a good friend found out in her fifth month that the baby she carried was so deformed it would most likely die before it came to term, would certainly not make a week after birth, and could pose a significant risk to her life should she try to deliver it naturally at the end of her term. They chose to end the pregnancy. This law would mean she would have had to spend months walking around, knowing there was no hope, looking at the ultrasound photos that showed the baby's catastrophic deformities (ever seen an ultrasound of a baby with no brain and less than half a face?) watching her dead baby grow- knowing it there was a good chance it would kill her.

Yeah, she totally deserved to have that experience.

fark these guys so goddamned hard.

Aside from the sheer inhumanity and mysoginy of the whole thing, forcing women to carry futile pregnancies to term is going to amount to more spending.

Liberals finally stop lying about Republicans and actually promote their own ideas instead of making false claims about what other groups of people actually think...

Oh who am I kidding? Liberals do actually want to win an election, so why would they do something like that?

Let me see if I can explain it so the inbred yokels can understand it?
The cattle done got out of the barn it's too late to close the barn door now, there is a black man in the oval office that is not there to clean it. Trying to turn back the clock by controlling your womenfolk's bodily functions is just putting nails in the barn door. Even if you round up the cattle you won't be able to get them back in the barn. The only good news is the chickens will still be there for your date tonight.

I just can't for the life of me see how they think they can WIN here. All but the most extreme anti-abortion activists have always allowed exceptions for the life of the mother, and the Supreme Court has made its position on this clear. This position was considered inarguable until this year? How many ADDITIONAL voters over the base do they think they're winning over?

This is a disastrous situation for any moderate (R) running this year. The only thing that makes sense to me is that this is a money-grab for limited funds from far right donors. "Look at me--I'm the derpiest!". This strategy fails at any level other than putting money in the pockets of individual politicians.

This whole soapbox they are on makes no sense. It holds no water on a scriptural, financial, philosophical, or ethical level. It sounds like something the Taliban would dream up. Or Pol Pot. Or Kim Jong Il. Completely unburdened by reality or experience.

Does anyone remember the anti-abortion law passed by GW during his first term? Some anti-3rd trimester garbage. In any case, that bill was struck down almost immediately because it lacked a provisions placing the life of the mother. I, too, am very concerned about the number of these ridiculous bills not only being proposed, but also passing (I wouldn't have believed it). How can the legal position have changed so dramatically? I'm guessing the strategy is to swamp the courts with laws like this, clawing out individual restrictions where they can (ie, if even the derpiest portions get vetoed, they may be able to expand restrictions).

These old white farks are going to do a lot of damage on the way out.

Passing the House in Georgia is about as great an accomplishment as passing a ban on Alcohol in Utah. This is a part of the world where the Klan Is still in politics, and the only thing keeping the "White's only" signs down in restrooms is fear of the Feds.

That said, this is the greatest gift ever handed to the Democrats. Their biggest threat was voter apathy. And the Republicans are all out of "feel good hate". They are down to wedge issues between themselves and the civilized world. They have picked up the banner of repression, and hatred. They have become the sort of thing that anyone can point to as a force of evil.

Their policies are bad for freedom, bad for business, even bad for religion. Religion was cute when it simply told you what you should do. Getting their polyanna policies enforced in law raises the stakes. Now you have to ask yourself, what is that envelope I put in the collection plate going to? Is my support for religion also a vote for turning back the clock to the middle ages?

If Santorum were to actually win the GOP nomination, i can already foresee the presidential debate questions:

"Governor Senator, if Kitty Dukakis Karen Santorum were raped and murdered impregnated, would you favor an irrevocable death penalty for the killer a legalized termination of the fetus?"
