..took some food with her but ran out, and stayed alive by drinking water from a nearby creek. She fed her cat, Miya, with cat food she had packed.... That's where authorities believe Page, who authorities said has a history of mental illness, purposefully went hiking off a trail with her cat...

What's her Fark handle, and where's the link to donate?

/and pics also, after this long she must be under 250 lbs by now...

I'm surprised that the cat didn't get lost or run afoul of some unfriendly forest creatures. Cats are so great

"Her cat was in better shape than she was," Marc Levesque, incident commander with New Mexico State Police Search and Rescue, told The Associated Press. "Her cat was also hunting. (Page) ran out of food a while back."

I take a cat hiking in the woods with me, biatch better get me some squirrels or chipmunks.

I have, and he did. Granted we were less than a mile from the house, but still.

Sadly I can't remember where I saved the cell phone pictures from hikes, but this is close enough.

Cats cants can't hunt that welll.

On one of the hikes, we approached a wood pile near the maple syrup boiling shed, and he went bounding off after a chipmunk which he caught in about 20 seconds of effort. Not the first time, not the last. Many cats don't care to hunt since they've swindled us into feeding them regularly, but mine? Mine can, will, and enjoys the hunt. He's nearly eight now and still attacks things like a kitten. I only wish he could get the rodents out of the walls, but he did grab two from the basement before they wised up.

I used to have a cat that could catch anything.

She's, sadly, gone now.

These new generations are barely able to scare a robin out of the yard.

Ever been to a Chinese restaurant?

That's Vietnamese who will eat cats, but you have to be a friend to get cat - it's a special treat.

/Chinese in the southern regions will eat dog as will Thais.
//Also a special treat. It's called 'sweet meat'.
///No I haven't - cats and dogs are pets. Did eat horse once that was being mixed with beef and sold as burgers.
