FUN LOLA FACTS
Loves bellyrubs, never 'springs the trap' on hands

My hubby taught our kitties the magic of the bellyrub. I'd never seen a cat go for it before that! What a trust they put in the belly-rubber.

Thanks for sharing your beautiful Lola with us!

Wait... What? Err... Anything I can do?

Hey! Don't recall seeing you in Caturday threads, fellow Mainah. Thanks for the offer, but at this point it's a waiting game. The contractor finally rocked in the wall this morning so now pellet stove guy can do his job. Was hoping to be back in tomorrow night but unless he's there now or coming tomorrow that's not gonna happen.

I only look once in a while. I'm not much of a cat person but I do like the humor and reading about all the cats. I looked today and noticed your post. Insurance covering your hotel? If you need anything than gimme a yell.

I will see if my email will let me into it. My ultrafark email has always been problematic. There's also webslaver *at* that hotmail.com site which has always looked funny since I made it. *sighs* It doesn't mean what one might think. It means a slave to the web. I keep using it because it amuses me.

We are ok, pets, too. House is still (mostly) in one piece. A spark between the pellet stove and the outside vent got caught in the wall. The fire started Tuesday morning 2/21. We have a gaping hole about 3' by 7' in the living room (facing the driveway). FD showed up about 7:40 and were there for about 90". They did a great job not trashing the living room too badly, just some water damage and a few knick-knacks/dog toys wet and/or nasty from plaster. Insurance is all current and paid up and they are paying for us to stay in a local motel, as well as the house repairs. However, it's been 2 1/2 weeks and a half and things are going slow with the contractor., who is married to my wife's boss, so it's a delicate situation..

It's been a rough stretch. In less than a month we've had the fire, my daughter broke up with her b/f of 6 years (who we all loved), my father-in-law's 1-month old Toyota Tundra was totaled by a log truck and he busted his arm to smithereens, our dogs got nailed by a skunk at 5am one morning, and the last sibling (out of 15) that my Mom had passed away. That's well more than a years worth of drama.

Yes. Yes it is. If you need financial assistance or the likes the email is there. No questions asked, even if it is just to buy beer. You can either pay it forward or back.

Oh, use the hotmail. Ultrafark still doesn't like my password. I once tried to get an admin to change it but I think they were drunk. Replies to my posts actually automatically ping my phone. (I am sometimes annoyed by that but I leave it set to do so. Mostly out of self loathing.)

;)

And, really, even if ya just need an extra fifty spot for a dinner with the missus or something.

Sorry to hear it. I was lucky that I had good insurance when I had my fire. Unfortunately, they dumped me after and now I have awful cut rate insurance until enough years have passed that a good company will find me 'safe' again... Dicks. Virtual Hugs.

Thank you :)

Aww.. thanks for the credits laulaja... while I did bring that pic (last July 4th I believe?) It was just something I found in a GIS... not the originator, merely a "sharer" ;)

Rufus Lee, dragonfly shot just above where I now type is exquisite.
AlienNarrr!'s having much the same trouble as your lady wife loincourt & whatever her more recent ID here is (short term memory way out to lunch, always any more). Tho before she was above to move, Alien suffered from ID theft. It still may not be all sorted out; I've been in touch by direct e-mail, & suggested she request Drew's minions to assist. Whatever does he pay them for, if not for cases such as these???
Also wanna thank those who've been voting in favour of this thread.

I volunteer at the mall adoption center on Saturdays, so there are usually lots of good stories for Caturday. Today's exploits, however, take the cake IMO.
A woman and her daughter came in to pick up a very nice cat named Windy that they had been waiting over a MONTH for, since she had ended up in sickbay with a nasty upper respiratory infection. While they were waiting for the final check-up last week, the mom said that the kid (maybe 5 or so?) could pick out a new name for Windy when they took her home. The daughter was super excited, and insisted on telling everyone in the adoption center her new kitty's name.
Windy's new alias: Buttermuffin. NO idea how she came up with it, but Buttermuffin was THRILLED to see her new family and now has a very happy forever home :)

Hello, my kittens and puppies! Sorry I'm AWOL this weekend. My students shared the lovely Norovirus with me. Woo hoo!

Also: My vet found a heart murmur in Pokey (Apostrophe--the wonder Siamese) this week. After MANY hundreds of dollars worth of tests, she discovered the cause is "old age". He's 15. Why didn't I see that coming?

Thanks, you guys, for the warm welcome. I posted and then had to hit the road, took mom out shopping. She has two fluff balls as well and I think between them and my retired-after-60-years-and-now-doesn't-know-what-to-do-with-himself father, she needs a break out of the house. :)

I look forward to many more Caturday posts!

Not Ginger, but resembles him. Credit to spinach gunk.

Not really apologising to makewhatis for Caturday in the Park credit; not room for entire posting history in titles. Also, didn't have a clue whether it was his work at ICHC or he'd found it somewhere on the Interwebz (as he said above he did).
Ginger came & walked around on my keyboard for a bit, then left again. Still haven't slipped that legsock onto left hind where the wound is. But there are plots & plans to do so, later if not sooner. He keeps licking it, which isn't that good for the healing process. It'll take both of us to manage that, almost certainly.
Need to go make some more transcribing progress; still have Canada & DX (foreign) to do. Supplies on back cover I can merely copy from last time. Once that's finnished (sic), so will the new issue be.

Spring Hopes

Hey, Wake up!
I want to play,
Want to enjoy this fine Spring Day!

The sun does shine,
It feels ever so fine.

Warms my fur,
Makes me purr.

I love when it beats down,
Cannot hold a frown.

What is that you say?
It is not a Spring Day?

I will enjoy it anyway!

Fortunately Eli did not fall into the toilet the other morning. I grabbed him just as he was slipping iiinnn! The look on his face! *giggle*

I once had a maine coon-old style- who loved to watch me in the tub..she would sit on the edge and drag her tail in the warm water...one day she slipped. Landed smack dab in the middle of the peach scented water....I think she set land speed records for getting out...and I swear she took half the water with her! She hoarked peach scented hairballs for a week!

laulaja: ....Feline takeover of our premises began in Apr 2007, when very gravid part-Maine Coon queen chose our garage in which to have her last (maybe even first) litter of 3, on a wkend we were both away. She & they weren't discovered until mid-wk (taking out of used litter & other rubbish). Dtr kitten was placed when old enough, Mom fixed when all weaned & sons when old enough (no one wanted them). Then in early Aug 2009 after distant vacation, within minutes of return from redeye flight home, found 5 wee kittens, 3.5 wks old our vet said, lurking under an evergreen bush. Raptors were out that day, so we took them in. Never ever did see their mom. All are syndactyl, some fused toes & wonky claws. Our vet figured Mom got into some insecticide or similar. 2 males, 3 females in Gang Of 5, no one wanted any of them either. So now with sr cat we adopted as kitten 12 yrs ago, & 1 other cat who let herself into garage, there are 10. & they Are In Charge!

Wow, so that's how you ended up with so many cats!! You are awesome, BTW, to take in so many felines.

Hey ferfer72, think I owe you some direct e's. Also think I need to research to recover yr e-drs; had both, once, thought they were in my e-drs bk but may be Creatively Filed.
We're lucky not to have caught the Norovirus, but have heard it circulates in SW OH where we are, along with along Lake Erie where tigerose is. I need to go GdSearch that to see what it is & what symptoms are (besides the usual). We were also lucky enough to keep our heads down when the tornadoes came thru.
What I actually came back in, on a break from transcribing, is to say

Yay Huzzah!!! Got Ginger's leg sock on, he rolled bk over & snoozed again!
i41.tinypic.com>

plantae, not awesome to take in so many, just suckers for wee (or not so wee) furry faces & purrings. We do get a group discount at our nearby vet clinic!
