I remember that by the end of the movie, the black person won. And that's all that counts.

2012-03-08 03:19:16 PM
The problem with Ron Paul is that he keeps forgetting about a little something we as people like to call "reality".

2012-03-08 03:20:35 PM
Ron Paul has many solutions for many problems that don't actually exist. Becoming president of the internet is only one of many.

2012-03-08 03:20:35 PM
The movie was more plausible.

I would have gone with Donnie Darko, but Snakes works.

I do disagree with one thing; the article implies that the internet wasn't important at all to Barack Obama. It was actually quite a big part of his strategy; just not his entire strategy like Paul.

But yeah, the article is right in that Ron Paul is way more popular on the internet than he is in real life.

All I can figure about the GOP grand strategy for 2012 is they're counting on the Democrats to be laughing so hard they forget to actually run and/or vote...

Ron Paul: "I've had it with this motherf*cking reality in my motherf*cking politics!"

Bag of Hammers: I would have gone with Donnie Darko, but Snakes works.

The internet liked Snakes ironically, because it sounded so bad it'd come out the other side and become awesome. Donnie Darko is genuinely loved around these parts. So yeah, Paul is definitely more Donnie Darko.

For like 3 months you heard nothing more than Snakes on a Plane. Everything was Snakes on a Plane. Then no one actually went to see the movie. I honestly can't think of a better example.

Darko was a hit.

Black people don't like venom spitting reactionary creatures. Sounds about right.

I suppose that analogy works, much like how Objectivism is the Highlander of political/economic philosophies.

Ron Paul only shows up in the polls because he as followers who show up 100% of the time. For other candidates they can count on a hundred to 500 voters for every supporter who shows up to support him in the pre-election.

For Paul it is one-to-one. Every one of his supporters comes out for him before the election and only those people vote for him. He has a dedicated loon minority.

Not sure I got this, is the idea that most people pretend the sequel to objectivism never happened?

I thought the main thing about Objectivism was that even its founder didn't really follow its principles, and just selectively used them to justify herself when they were convenient and ignored them when they weren't.

/not that is particularly abnormal across all politics, from voters to presidents, and plenty of other domains

We should have a pre-Primary to decide which one R and one D will be allowed on the primary and general election ballots.

That is kind of the irony in his support base.

It's cool to be an independant loaner but its much easier after reaping the benefits of living in a communal society.

"I feel like I just voted for Jefferson!"

I'm pretty sure that there would be nothing but lemon parties if our country was run in a RonPaul-like manner.

We wouldn't have DARPA, so no. You'd be reading this on AOL.

Actually, the RON PAUL cult is more like the Bronies, demanding that Derpy be made canon and then going into SEVERE APOCALYPTIC BUTTHURT once Hasbro found itself wondering just WTF they were thinking and try to retcon everything.

i.chzbgr.com

Of course, even the Bronies are more mature and tolerant than the average "Game of Thrones" cultboy. Now THERE is some serious fellatio going on over that show.

My problem with him is he has some good big ideas. TOO big ideas. With no steps to get there.

I was aiming for, "You think it's awesome when you see it for the first time as a teenager, but when you're an adult and look at it again you realize just how juvenile and mediocre it really is."
