Oh for crying out loud. We freed you already. What the fark are you people still whining about?

I know it's WND and I know I should know better, but the goddamn comments are depressingly astounding and astoundingly depressing.

Someone they think that this means that Derrick Bell is the black Hitler and wanted to bring genocide to the white race.

2012-03-08 01:25:02 PM
In order to play this out republicans are going to have to come out in favor of white supremacy. Good Luck!

He signed on to a Race Traitor article titled "Renew the legacy of John Brown," calling for John Brown Day to be declared in the U.S. in 1999.

Brown was an American revolutionary abolitionist who in the 1850s advocated and practiced armed insurrection as a means to abolish slavery.

Oh my sweet Lord, the man supported violent abolitionism. He is truly a monster. Won't someone think of the dead white slave owners?

I'm surprised Pat Buchanan didn't pen this. He's been lamenting the end of white supremacy for some time now.

Get Aaron Klein's "Red Army: The Radical Network that must be defeated to save America" from WND's Superstore

Remove the quotes and it's close to a accurate statement.

Now WND is going after dead guys?

They also forgot to mention that he was Dean of the University of Oregon School of Law.

farking assclowns.

Discover the Networks presented a list of some of Bell's notable quotes on race, all from his 1992 book "Faces at the Bottom of the Well":

"Despite undeniable progress for many, no African Americans are insulated from incidents of racial discrimination. Our careers, even our lives, are threatened because of our color."
"[T]he racism that made slavery feasible is far from dead ... and the civil rights gains, so hard won, are being steadily eroded."
"[F]ew whites are ready to actively promote civil rights for blacks."
"[D]iscrimination in the workplace is as vicious (if less obvious) than it was when employers posted signs 'no negras need apply.'"
"We rise and fall less as a result of our efforts than in response to the needs of a white society that condemns all blacks to quasi citizenship as surely as it segregated our parents."
"Slavery is, as an example of what white America has done, a constant reminder of what white America might do."
"Black people will never gain full equality in this country. ... African Americans must confront and conquer the otherwise deadening reality of our permanent subordinate status."
"Tolerated in good times, despised when things go wrong, as a people we [blacks] are scapegoated and sacrificed as distraction or catalyst for compromise to facilitate resolution of political differences or relieve economic adversity."

The bolded statement is the only one that I can reasonable consider being overly hyperbolic or reactionary. This is their best shot?

Diogenes: Oh for crying out loud. We freed you already. What the fark are you people still whining about?

Oh my gosh I know, get over it already. You're in America, it's awesome. Africa sucks. I'm still waiting for a thank you from these people.

What's really sad is what this says about us. Once Obama won the election alot of folks thought the proverbial party was over. So it doesn't take much - tenuous connections, talk of equal rights and a civil society, mysteriousness born of ignorance of other cultures, denial of the supposed inherent superiority of white people - to get low information voters to panic and think it's the end of the world.

Yes, Hannity, Breitbart, WND/Farrah are sick, evil people for playing upon that. But if we weren't so foolish as a whole, it wouldn't work on us.

Not only that but "... [blacks] are scapegoated and sacrificed as distraction or catalyst for compromise to facilitate resolution of political differences or relieve economic adversity" is practically the official Republican line regarding how Liberals bought the black vote.

The actual history of the civil rights movement reveals the "few whites" one to be a baldfaced lie. Not to mention the "steadily eroded" one, which sounds silly from the vantage of 1992, but downright ridiculous in 2012, what with the first black president and all.

This. I thought watching the complete and utter downfall of the GOP would be more pleasant and entertaining. I had no idea it would get so ugly and disturbing. At what point after Obama is re-elected do they start distributing the white robes and hats again?

Yes, I remember when the whites outnumbered the blacks at civil rights rallies, and how they pack the Civil Rights Museum in downtown Greensboro daily.

Dear GOP,

You seemed to be a little confused about this, so let me explain: the term "post-racial America" means that race is no longer an issue. It doesn't mean that racism is OK. Just thought you should know.

Love,

That's BS. Not liking black people is the same thing as not liking Cobb salad or the cheese biscuits from Red Lobster. That's what post-racial means. We shouldn't be judging people just because they judge other people by their skin tone. It's robbing them of their First Amendment rights!

Indeed. They wouldn't exist in their current form if there weren't a large swath of America who already held these beliefs whom they can pander to. The problem is actually cultural. These characters are just exploiting a niche market.

From what I see, people here are saying that Mr. Bell was a do-gooder who fought against white supremacy. I merely pointed out that Bell was also a Farrakhan booster. The way I see it, supporting someone like Farrakhan is not the best way to combat racism.
