Just so "Get a Life" is there.

So... yeah.

I'm not gonna watch a 30 second commercial for every farking video.

Set course... for love.

I went through it quickly, but I didn't see a single one from the Conan O'Brien episode. That one was the GOAT- James the Gentleman Masher, Moleculo, Right Said Fred (the beekeeper from the Village People).

In the same episode as the "Get a Life" sketch was one where the Enterprise was a restaurant. Dana Carvey was Khan and he came in with a health inspector to shut it down. It was pretty great. Kevin Nealon was Spock and he started to lose it towards the end.

Glad to see "Get A Life" was there. That entire episode of SNL with William Shatner is the best one in its 37-year history. There wasn't a bad sketch on it.

I really disliked the "Get a life" sketch. Shatner is rich and famous and got a career out of Star Trek geeks, and that sketch was nasty to some odd but harmless people who did nothing but fall in love with a show he used to be on.

If you want to mock Star Trek fans, don't take their money.

You don't have to watch any ads at all.
Highlight the clip you want to watch, right click, click "view selection source", get the link to the flv file and d/l it.

Honorary mention to the "Nerd Phone Sex" skit when Paris Hilton hosted. Besides the producer it was the only thing she nailed.

CSB. . .

A good friend of mine was and extra (nerdy Italian in the back right) in the Star Trek skit. His dad was a sound guy on SNL. Dom was a huge Trek fan and he told me once that when they were shooting it, Shatner's emotion felt pretty genuine. He showed us the recording in school back in '92 or so. . .

Still a classic.

Is Nick the Computer Repair Man on the list?

CSB: a hot female coworker of mine, she said her computer went out, asked me to look at it. she was clicking the keyboard, balck screen. she cycled the on off switch, nothing. her tower was humming, though. I asked her to move away, and it turned out she'd kicked the power cord off the UPS unit. Plugged it in, monitor comes on, i'm a hero.

leaving her office, i paused at the door and in my best nerdsnarl, hissed, "OH, AND THANK YOU?" She lol'd.

The Restaurant Enterprise (new window)

Best Star Trek skit ever,

Guy Choking:

Kirk: "Dr. McCoy, this man needs medical attention."
McCoy: "Damnit, Jim, I'm a doctor, not a- oh, sure."

I'm not obsessing about it. It came up here, I'm posting my thoughts on it.

I think being nasty to vulnerable people (especially people who've made you a success) is vile behaviour. That's not a Trek-specific attitude I hold.

'Alienses' was farking terrible.

Go to the library. Read one of his books. He apologizes about it in nearly every single one.

//But rarely for Airplane 2, strangely enough

Glad to see "Alienses" made the list. One of the best movie spoofs SNL has ever done.

Wrong Superman sketch. They should have had at least an honorable mention of the one from circa-2000, when The Rock was hosting. Typical day at the Daily Planet, except that Lois Lane, Jimmy Olson, etc. are all onto him, and totally mocking, with The Rock clumsily attempting to keep the facade.

"I heard Superman is totally gay."
"Yeah, I heard that if you get him in a truck stop bathroom, kryptonite isn't the only thing that brings him to his knees."
"I AM NOT! I mean... HE IS NOT! Sure, he did some experimenting back in Smallville..."

I was a big fan. If you pay attention during the sketches, somebody over there has some knowledge. They weren't ever right, but they were close. When I did tech support, I got Nick Burns jokes all the time from users. I liked it.
