Subby, I know how long you must have been holding on to this headline, waiting for a caffeine pill overdose. I just want to let you know, it was worth it.

Well done.

"Mr Fisher suffered from a psychotic condition and had stopped taking his prescribed medication when he digested the tablets.

The inquest was told how he took his life with the caffeine supplements while the balance of his mind was disturbed."

It had been a long time since I went through the pharmacology journal but I recall the fatal dose of caffine being something ridiculous like 1600 mg/kg.

I think LD50 in rats is like 200 mg/kg. Not sure in humans. Also its quite possible he was being treated with Fluvoxamine (he has symptoms of a mood disorder and possibly an anxiety disorder so it'd be a reasonable drug). Fluvoxamine slows the hepatic metabolism of caffeine/increases its effects.

in Mr Fisher's case the level had reached 367mg of caffeine per litre of blood

That's .04%. Caffeine must be about ten times as toxic as alcohol.

Plus that the dose that 50% die. You just need 100 kids to dose in the 1% lethal range, and bob's yer uncle.

All we need now is for Mr. Belding to die in an autoerotic asphyxiation incident.

I think the worst decade ever was really about 1986-1994

True, some good shiat came out in 1992, and 1988, but the age of the ridiculously oversized sweater shall live on in infamy.

I wonder what people will shudder about in 2032. Skinny jeans, or will they be back in style again, like skinny ties?

Knew a girl in HS that somehow got busted for weed, had to spend the night in jail, had 5 15mg dexadrines on her that she didn't want the authorities to find, so she swallowed them! Said she didn't die, but that she often wanted to!

It was Will who had them in his locker, and Carlton thought they were Vitamin E. They sort of chickened out on their "very special episode," as far as I'm concerned, since none of the main characters voluntarily took the pills. Will had them from a friend but wasn't planning on taking them. Carlton only took them because he didn't know what they were.
