And you can't drive your car on oil that's being sent out of the country via the Keystone pipeline.

Gingrich was so awful on this in his speech last night. He mockingly said he'd like to see Obama take a jar of algae and tell the gas station attendant to fill him up.

Well, Newt, I'd like to see you do the same with a jar of fresh crude.

I know it's cliche to say, but it so depresses me that people would be stupid enough to find that brilliant. And based on the audience reaction, plenty do.

Now that's common sense talk!
Don't try to fancy it up with a bunch of nonsense about "science" and "emerging technologies". My car gets 40 rods to the hogshead and that's the way I likes it!

Actually, I submitted this, but I hadn't seen that thread until I clicked on your link just now. Great minds, and all that. (Though in reality, the joke kinda wrote itself.)

Meanwhile, here's an article about how Governor Romney thought we should focus on renewable energy.

i remember when they mocked obama for telling people to fill their tires. turns out the number one thing you can do to improve gas mileage is... fill your tires.

republicans: wrong on everything since 1994.

What I don't understand is why Republicans don't embrace green tech as a national security issue (actually, I do - petroleum industry campaign contributions). But we shouldn't have our oil supply (a finite resource) depend on the goodwill of foreign countries, many of whom dislike us. If they don't want to sell to us, the Chinese will happily take up the slack, I'm sure.

Meanwhile, without some sort of government incentives, we're going to end up having to import all of our green tech someday from China, Japan and Germany.

You can heat your house with a farking windmill, you moron.

I swear these people and their penis replacement vehicles. We get it. Your car is more important than the environment, and anything that doesn't DIRECTLY allow you to drive your Ford Tankster for less money is socialism.

2012-03-07 05:42:20 PM
Romney is for our dependence on foriegn oil! Because conservatives know that change is bad so why do it? It's those damn liberal progressives that demand socialism and change in the form of thinking of the future.

I'm learning that Americans like to simplify everything. If it is a complex issue, we collectively blow a brain gasket.

Yes, because relying on a commodity like oil that has its price controlled not by supply and demand but by speculators and dictators, THAT is the way to a more stable and productive future!

Yeah, its quite impressive that Americans are now working on lowering world opinion of its population again - it seemed after Bush was reelected and the US financial industries had a go at destroying the world economy, and then Palin it couldn't sink any lower, but the Republican primaries and all that surrounds it are plumbing new lows.

He really respects the intelligence of his audience doesn't he. If they understood what Obama stood for, they might not get worked up into a blind hatred for him, hence the lies and cheap jokes. He's got nothing.

Windmills on cars! Stupid. What moves this country forward is putting flags on cars. Tattered, faded, cheap plastic flags made in China.

That's how everybody knows we love our country.

Farking Kenyan!

It's there to charge the battery. I'm saying that having the engine push the turbine through the air can't be more efficient than hooking the engine directly to an alternator. If it was, then you could take some of the leftover energy and use it to make the car go faster, violating thermodynamics.

/Unless the turbine is meant for when the car is parked on a windy day??? I still don't see the additional power from that overcoming those awful aerodynamics.

And yet Obama doesn't advocate installing these or in fact this being implemented in any way shape or form. It's funny how rumors get started, isn't it.

Why don't they just build a perpetual motion machine? We waste all of this money on nonsense like the EPA, and solar companies (solyndra) etc. We could solve all of the environmental problems with a perpetual motion machine and we wouldn't need that added bureaucracy. But nooooo, 0bama loves the EPA and doesn't want this easily accessible machine. It would cost some people jobs in the short term, but think of all of the positives that would come out of it.
