/came to complain that the not-a-slide-show was a slideshow, sees that's been covered.

//Also thought of this, too: RexTalionis: How can a list of weird prosthetic not include Tycho Brahe's prosthetic tin nose?

Word. Needs to be on there. (How was it held on? I think the metal is still debated also since there's conflicted evidence, else he had several he swapped around)

///can someone explain why they bother putting to make [aesthetic] toes on a prosthetic foot? I can understand why some try to make hands look like real since those are usually bare and we use them to interact with other people regularly and it might make people more comfortable socially but... how often are we running around barefoot? Especially if we're missin' part of a leg? Probably never. There's going to be a shoe on there. Save some time, fark adding toes.

////feet are ugly anyway

Tziva: I think most modern ones, like that one, don't have toes or even really resemble feet, because people realise functionality is more important than looks.

Actually these days the insides of the feet are roughly like what's in the posted pic, and the foot as such is just a cover. And people get them because they do sometimes go barefoot or wear sandals and such.

According to a Swedish webpage I found:

"Tycho had an artificial nose made, not from wax, but from an alloy of gold and silver and put it on so skillfully, that it looked like a real nose Wilhelm Janszoon Blaeu, who spent time with Tycho for nearly two years, also said that Tycho used to carry a small box with a paste or glue, with which he often would put on the nose." It's not one of the slideshows where each slide is its own page replete with ads which takes a few seconds to load, but it is a slideshow.
