To be fair, by "national security" the teabaggers mean telling you what to do in the privacy of your own home.

Wait until these old farks find out that eliminating govt. sponsored health care takes Medicare off the table.

These people are clueless. They are perfect examples of what the republitard party has become - clueless and pointless.

I was expecting a Sudan or something like that. But China? TFA is trying to posit that China is a small government conservative utopia.

This troll headline would make Rush Limbaugh blush.

Ya know, someone could make a comparison with Liberals and the USSR (or the GDR), but that would be idiotic, just like this article.

FTFA: You read right - in the Worker's Socialist Paradise there are no labor unions, because Chinese workers never had it so good. They have a minimum wage law, but no Workers Compensation Laws, no Unemployment tax or Unemployment benefits. There is a Social Security tax but (see the toothless IRS section) contributing to it is voluntary and unenforced, so it is seldom done.

Sorry, those two bolded parts are complete dealbreakers. Might as well move to the People's Republic of Berkeley.

Meh. It's a dumb blog post, but it does raise the point that Tea Partisans who chant "We don't want the government to do anything for us" have no concept of what life in such a system would actually be like.

I am reading Country Driving by Peter Hessler, and he relates a harrowing experience in a Chinese hospital that included, among fears of AIDS from the blood supply, the need for everything to be pre-paid, in cash.

I remember thinking "who would have thought that the DRC had the healthcare program advocated for by the GOP?"

Pretty good book, at least so far.

2012-03-07 09:39:38 AM
The author forgot to mention environmental protection in a country where last month they had a major cadmium spill in a river water supply and a clear-day ground stop at the capital's airport because the pilots couldn't see to land.

You don't see it, you don't even see it - it is part of the retail price you pay.

You don't need proofreaders, you don't even need proofreaders - you just type everything right off the top of your head.

No government involvement in business? In China?

Your blog, much like your powers of comprehension, suck.

yeah, especially the one child per family, forced abortion part of China. The teaparty would love that.

This negates your SS tax problem. After all, the right-wingers here are always saying that they're fine with millionaires voluntarily paying taxes, as long as they're not forced to.

/Poor people, on the other hand, must be forced to pay more taxes, so they have "skin in the game"

"No income tax"

Subby lies.

FTA:
The Income Tax code is simple and the forms are easy to fill out

The Chinese income tax is so simple there ARE no forms to fill out. Wages are paid monthly and taxes are assessed on your monthly wages and are withheld by your employer. No deductions, no credits, no exclusions, no carry-forwards, no recordkeeping. No forms to fill out - ever.

Those are features, not bugs. If fluorine (atomic number 9) in the water is good for you, then cadmium (atomic number 48) must be about 5x better for you. As for those pesky airplanes, you'd think the hippies would be on board with shutting down airports.

"Tea Party Heaven" only exists in the limited imaginations of people who call themselves Teabaggers...

That was pretty trolltastic. Kudos, subby.

2012-03-07 09:47:35 AM
FTFA: "No Government involvement in Business, Health Care, Labor matters or pretty much anything else except national security."

That is completely not true. Health Care is nationalized for certain provinces, and the government is so involved in business it isa bureaucratic nightmare.

The article sounds like it is some expat who spent a few years in china and thinks he understands the government system.

It really isn't. At least not since Deng.

You know... I know it's just libs being libs but I've never actually heard a tea party member say any of that stuff about getting rid of government all together, killing off all the black children, or really ANY of the straw man garbage you guys throw out there. Am I wrong that I don't fall for hyperbolic troll statements?

Just think of all the poor accountants, CPAs, tax preparers, and tax attorneys who would be out of work if we moved to a simpler tax!

Of course you can't get rid of government all together. We have to have a military to enforce our will on brown people. Duh.

Obviously if they can't do or understand it it's not necessary, sort of like teachers and scientists.

2012-03-07 10:00:21 AM
I know Tea party people are stupid and all, but haven't we moved beyond regarding them as a legit enough political movement to be worth paying the attention required to make fun?

I mean, they're not exactly a major driving force in even GOP politics these days. Seems like a bit of a waste of time to attack 'em.

You are correct. In fact, one Democratic Underground user explicitly, and evidently seriously, claimed China to be a progressive country.

2012-03-07 10:03:26 AM
"Admitting"? Excuse me but, p huk you. That's what's so god dam wrong with you partisain hack assholes. Your political affiliation is not something to be confessed like so many phelonies. You are every thing wrong with the system and your head is too far up your own ass to see it.

No; in fact, one Democratic Underground user claimed China to be a "progressive" country due to the nation's prohibition upon civilian firearm ownership. Be aware that the poster's history suggests the claim not to be sarcasm.

2012-03-07 10:04:03 AM
Imagining... Imagining... OK, I see a world where all of the workers are constantly on strike and the elites have to break out their garden hoes and start tilling the soil.

2012-03-07 10:04:04 AM
Tea Party?

They died out like 3 years ago.

Why do people still feel threatened by them?

What sort of contrived fear is next...injun raids?
