Flaming Yawn: This is barely on topic, but I just wanted to come here because I was excited to come across a word that perfectly expresses my opinion of Newt Gingrich.

"Loathsome."

I'm still trying to find the word that has that exact same shading of nuance and piquancy to apply to Rick Santorum.

Romney doesn't deserve one, being a colorless multimillionaire machine politician, and Ron Paul is colorful enough just being himself.

'Revulsion'?

I was going to suggest 'Santorum'.

Hi! I can lick my own eyebrows: John215: Cletus C.: Romney's pretty much doing a victory lap now. Any thoughts otherwise are wet dreams.

A hierarchy
Spread out on the nightstand
The spirit of team
Salvation is another chance
A sore loser
Yelling with my mouth shut
A cracking portrait
The fondling of the trophies
The null of losing
Can you afford that luxury?

A Small Victory
Thank you.
I thought I was the only one who bought that album. It was so eclipsed by Nevermind.

I also bought it and loved it.

/Everything's Ruined would also be good theme music for the GOP primary as well.

Well, I'm probably the one vote that Huntsman will get in GA. I couldn't bring my self to vote for any of the other idiots, even if it would have been for the Lulz. No reason to go with a democrat ticket, as A) Obama was the only option, so it isn't like it would matter and B) the only other voting going on today is about allowing alcohol sales on Sunday.

I don't think there a many PEOPLE left in this country Teddy wouldn't knock their ass. I fear we've become a nation of jerks.

(I'm a jerk)

This will be a big day for Mitt Romney. After today, he can put the race for the nomination behind him and face his real destiny - getting his ass handed to him in the general election.

I would put Romney as Gil because he's bending over backwards to sell his shoddy product. Gingrich as Hank Scorpio because he is the "fark you, Democrats!" vote, though Quimby is also appropriate. Not sure about Santorum though. Flander is the obvious choice, but even Flanders doesn't quite embody the "Smarmy religious douchebag" niche that Santorum does.

Romney was selected because he's rich and seems nice, but he will burn this place to the ground and is also quite rich. I also considered Lyle Lanley, which I'm sort of wishing I had gone with now.

Santorum was the hardest one. I settled on Gil because that's how he started the campaign season, and that's how it's going to end for him.

I decided to jump the ol' aisle and vote Republican...just so I can vote against Josh Mandel for Senator twice.

As for President, I split my two votes (one for an at-large delegate, one for a district delegate) between Huntsman and Paul. Huntsman 'cuz he's the only R I could conscionably vote for, and Paul just so I can tell my brother's wife's family I voted for him just like they did.

/Yes, Huntsman and Perry still being on the ballot surprised the shiat out of me, too.

But Mitt Romney has the business experience necessary to govern from a stern, fiscally conservative point of view! Sure he's not the most hardcore on social issues, but we need to get our financial house in order, and I for one trust the man who has managed millions of dollars in capital over the rigid Catholic who is more concerned about birth control pills than he is about the deficit and al Qaeda.

/How'd I do?

I voted for Santorum (open primary in GA). I did this because I believe that there is no way he could win the general election against Obama. Yes I felt dirty and wanted to take a shower afterwards, but in my heart I believe that is the best thing I could do for our country. My oath said that I will "uphold and defend the Constitution of the United States against all enemies, foreign and domestic" and to me the GOP\Republican\Christian Right party is a domestic enemy. I'm not saying that the Democrats are perfect either, but for 15 years (that I've been paying attention) all I see is the rights' desire to move further to the right at the expense of everyone but the wealthy. Just my $.02.

nice. Now we just need someone to tell us how Newt, the former Speaker of the House, is the "anti-establishment" candidate and we're set.

Newt Gingrich is the man who championed a balanced budget and forced Bill Clinton to help reform welfare. Newt might have made personal mistakes but his knowledge of how Washington works, as well as his outsider mentality will lead to real reform. Newt never gives up. His loyalty and respect for this great nation is well noted. He has.hustled to the top of the Primary season is amazing. Gingrich will lead this nation back to greatness, and has my vote in2012

Mitt Romney is a businessman, and he's bought into the same principles as Wall Street. What we really need is reform of our monetary system! Did the framers of the Constitution tell us that we need bailouts or Olympics? I don't see Olympics in the Constitution! Ron Paul has the record and experience we need, the right position on shrinking the size of federal government and not giving money to terrorists via foreign aid and military adventures, and he has the charisma and advocacy of personal responsibility that will bring out youth voters in the general election.

Oh god, Idaho's shiat is ridiculous. Luckily it'll go to Mitt in a rout, and he'll win all 32. That's the thing about these events, it'll be a MUCH bigger win for Romney to get 55% in Idaho than if Gingrich wins Georgia with 45%.

Twenty minutes to showtime.

Total committed, entering tonight: Romney 118, Gingrich 29, Paul 8, Santorum 17, Huntsman 2

Note 1: The following delegates have not yet been allocated to candidates: Iowa 25, Minnesota 37, Colorado 33, Maine 21, Wyoming 26, Washington 40.
Note 2: Huntsman's 2 New Hampshire delegates will become unbound once he withdraws (rather than suspends his campaign).
Note 3: The following delegates, included above, are under protest: Florida (Romney 50) and Arizona (Romney 29), as violations of winner-take-all rules; Michigan (Romney 1) as technical violation of winner-take-all rules, but more apparently changing the rules after the vote.

Superdelegates (according to FL/DCW): Romney 18, Gingrich 3, Santorum 2, Paul 1.

GRAND TOTAL: Romney 136, Gingrich 32, Santorum 19, Paul 9. 1144 to win.
