8:00 update

Georgia - 76
Secretary of State results (also available by district)
Gingrich 18, Santorum 8, Romney 0
It's too early to tell if Romney hits 20%, and it's too early to award any congressional district delegates, but Gingrich will quite possibly win pluralities in all and majorities in some.

Vermont - 17
Secretary of State results
Romney 8, Santorum 0, Paul 0.
Romney will win, but Santorum and/or Paul may hit 20% and take a share of delegates.

Virginia - 46
State Board of Election results (also available by district)
Romney 19.
Romney has clinched at least two CDs in my view, and will probably win 8+ of the 11. Paul may win a few and squeeze out some delegates.

Ohio - 63
Secretary of State results (also available by district)
Can't tell fark-all.

Massachusetts (just closed) - 38
No Secretary of State election night reporting
38 delegates: Prop-15

Oklahoma (just closed) - 40
State Election Board results (also available by district)
3x5 CD: Majority-all / Else 2-1 if 15%
25 at-large: Majority-all / Prop-15

Tennessee (just closed) - 55
No Secretary of State election night reporting
3x9 CD: Super-all / Else 2-1 if 20%
28 at-large: Super-all / Prop-20

2012-03-06 08:06:16 PM
Romney +785, 2% reporting in Ohio.

We need another Santorum surge!

2012-03-06 08:06:41 PM

The Bestest: I honestly wonder how Virginia would've turned out if Gingrich and Santorum were on the ballot.

This.

Mar 06, 2012 (51% of precincts reporting)
Mitt Romney 77,973 59.3%
Ron Paul 53,575 40.7%

I gotta think Paul would have retained more votes than Romney had other candidates been introduced, considering Ron Paul supporters aren't the type to waffle.

I Said: Idaho: Matlock as a write in

Excellent.

flixter: That guy is 25 and thinks Newt is the smartest man he's ever heard. I weep for our youth.

At least I can forgive younglings for being taken in by Ron Paul.

LA Times has Ohio Romney 37% Santorum 39.3% and pulling away

bobbette: Not me. I had to read the Wikipedia pages on heels and heel-face-turns and whatnot in order to understand references on TV Tropes.

I used to hate pro wrestling (mostly because I had a brother who watched it) but I made my peace with it. It's soap operas for people with Y chromosomes. It's only normal for people to enjoy melodramatic stories, and it's unsurprising that the conflict in pro wrestling is people just bashing each other, whereas the conflict in soap operas is the undertaking of evil schemes. I don't really enjoy either, but they're legitimate forms of entertainment.

While I understand that pro-wrestling isn't your cup of tea:

Dude! Are you a Canadian Action Party voter/member? They're our equivalent of Ron Paul (hate NAFTA, want monetary reform) and finding someone who admits to voting for them is like sighting a unicorn. I think most Canadians don't even know they exist. They're also 9/11 Truthers now.

No. I've never heard of them.
/not a truther either

Damnit. Romney ahead in Ohio.

eh... while that's true, Paul hasn't really come close to 40% in any other primary, so the simplest answer is probably that many of the people that don't like Romney are simply voting for "not Romney"

2012-03-06 08:13:41 PM
Romney +905, 3% reporting in Ohio

2012-03-06 08:13:46 PM
and now LA Times has changed Ohio to Romney 40% and Santo 37

2012-03-06 08:13:52 PM
Wow. MSNBC showed one of the few numbers I've seen that's really damming for the GOP: Romney's favorable/unfavorable rating vs McCain and the last few losing pres candidates in March of their years.

Romney: 28% Favorable
McCain: 42% Favorable
Others
Lowest besides Romney was Dole: 36% Favorable

Here's an informative, short documentary on the fall election, no matter who wins the GOP Primary.

Nothing is getting decided tonight. Tune in next week, when Santorum gets 70%+ of the vote in Kansas!

Romney +960, 4% reporting in Ohio

2012-03-06 08:17:23 PM
Romney +4431, 6% reporting in Ohio

Ouch. Looking sad for the Frothster.

TheBigJerk: firesign: Great_Milenko: Let's put this to bed finally.

Ohio-Romney
Mass-Romney
Virginia-Romney
Oklahoma-Romney
Wisconsin-Romney
Tennessee- Romney
Georgia-Newt (frothy damn close, maybe another Iowa)

I live in Georgia. I think this line of reasoning comes from people viewing Georgia as this:

When in reality over half of the entire state's population is gathered around this:

That is the same city where all directions include the phrase, "turn at/go past The Big Chicken."

/Cheapshots are the best shots.

Well, they are, but that's Marietta, not Atlanta. Right nearby, for sure, and definitely a suburb at this point, what with the urban sprawl. But we still make fun of them for putting stickers on their public school Biology textbooks that evolution is "only a theory."

...or at least I do. Alright, fine, this state is pretty "God 'n' Guns," even right near metro.

As an Ohioan who works with Republican voters, it's gonna be Romney. The only R bumper sticker in the parking lot is for that aristocrat.

2012-03-06 08:21:38 PM
Is Oklahoma still a state? I recall Congress decided it was just property where oil companies pass gas (pipelines). Why do they get a vote?

2012-03-06 08:21:56 PM
Sarah Palin!

She won't say who she voted for...

Didn't she endorse Romney?

20 bucks says she doesn't know who Orwell was.

Santorum is likely to win Ohio. The early votes are from the big cities, Santorum will surge from behind to win.

Man, watching Ohio, I really wonder what would have happened if Newt had dropped out before Super Tuesday. I would guess that more than 50 percent of Newt's votes would go to Frothy the Snowman, which would have made this very very close.

I'm trying hard not to get overconfident about Obama's chances of reelection in November, but is it wrong that right now, I'm not vaguely worried?

2012-03-06 08:29:57 PM
Meanwhile on CNN:
"SARAH PALIN JUST VOTED IN ALASKA"

Jeeeeeezus Christ.

2012-03-06 08:30:02 PM
The Fox News Internet pundits are saying the GOP is killing itself this primary season. I think one just said Obama has an 80% chance of re-election.

2012-03-06 08:30:03 PM
And, of course, Sarah doesn't rule out being the nominee at a brokered convention.
