jake_lex: Alphax: heinekenftw: I suppose "downright frightening" is another phrase I could have used in place of "hilarious." But then I was referring to the irony that they claim to stand on a platform of fiscal conservatism yet are blind to how access to birth control and proper sexual education would save costs.

Seems like birth control and sex ed. are two of the many things that they refuse to learn about.

In what Limbaugh said about this, and what his fans are parroting, it seems like they're implying that you have to take a birth control pill every time you have sex. Hence the "Fluke has so much sex she can't afford birth control" line.

So, yeah, they don't know shiat.

Exactly.

They certainly aren't strangers to cognitive dissonance, in fact I'd say it's their favorite past-time. These people and their weird, quasi-religious worship of the free market, their own special perversion of the Constitution and their own special perversion of the Bible are really something else. I hope Ms.Fluke, since she now has this platform, writes a very long, very scathing opinion piece on exactly what she thinks about Rush and everyone criticizing her. They won't listen very closely but she is probably in the best position to verbally slap just a little sense into them. I know she's made a couple t.v. appearances but I want her to spend time on it, make it really hit home. I can only hope.

How do you find these whores who don't expect payment? Just asking.

Do any of them even have wives/girlfriends that use birth control? I knew that as far back as a teenager, when, you know, I saw them take it everyday. I also have a functional brain, so that probably helps.

Bloody William: Headso: Sandra Fluke and her statist cronies are up to.

Funny how suddenly she is the leader of something and has her own cronies. It would be pretty sweet to have cronies though, that's when you know you made it.

Well, let's be fair, she was a leader... of a school chapter of a reproductive rights organization for law students.

Suddenly, "Being active in school organizations and politically engaged" is "left-wing ringleader and valid target for any and all political smears."

Now there's what really gets me. They generally don't just pull people off the street to testify before Congress, so of course the person should have some knowledge of the subject they are testifying on. Certainly, more so than a bunch of celibate men for chrissake. But because she is *gasp* an "elite" Law student who serves on a women's reproductive rights panel, she deserves all the hate and vitriol from the mouth-breathers. Seems they would be happier if congress had grabbed an actual prostitute off the streets and had her testify instead.

Clearly, Sandra Fluke is history's greatest monster.

Since her controversial testimony on February 23, Sandra Fluke has been called many things, from a heroine to a "slut," but actually, she may just be a fake.

A fake... what? Woman? She has no impetus for seeking equal treatment for her gender if she's *gasp* 30 years old and understands how discriminatory the law is? GOP logic.

2012-03-06 09:27:24 AM
Look, fictional libs, it's easy.

If you just stopped being just as precisely bad as republicans, only slightly worse, they wouldn't have to continue to act even MORE abhorrent to keep up. It's like mutual assured destruction.

So if you could just turn down your make-believe outrageous actions, we could have a little more cool-headed rational discussion on matters of concern to the nation.

Sometimes they are brought. But, be careful.

There was an old woman in China who had supported a monk for over twenty years. She had built a little hut for him and fed him while he was meditating. Finally she wondered just what progress he had made in all this time.

To find out, she obtained the help of a girl rich in desire. "Go and embrace him," she told her, "and then ask him suddenly: 'What now?'"

The girl called upon the monk and without much ado caressed him, asking him what he was going to do about it.

"An old tree grows on a cold rock in winter," replied the monk somewhat poetically. "Nowhere is there any warmth."

The girl returned and related what he had said.

"To think I fed that fellow for twenty years!" exclaimed the old woman in anger. "He showed no consideration for your need, no disposition to explain your condition. He need not have responded to passion, but at least he could have evidenced some compassion;"

She at once went to the hut of the monk and burned it down.

csb time:

A young kid was humping hookers on Van Buren in Phoenix--back when prostitution was limited to Van Buren--and running off with their cash. He ripped off a pimp's girls once too often. The pimp knocked on the kid's front door and when the kid answered the door, the pimp shot and killed the kid. Only problem was--just like in every low-budget Hollywood thriller--the kid had a identical twin brother. Who actually answered the door that day.

Never, ever steal money that has to go upstream. The pimp had to kill the kid not just because he needed to protect his cred but because someone had to pay the money upstream. Nobody above the pimp was going to cut the pimp a break because he got ripped off by a 14-year-old.

However, contrary to the narrative of innocent victimhood that portrays Fluke as a wide-eyed 23-year-old girl caught without contraception on a college campus full of predatory men, Fluke herself is really a 30-year-old women's rights activist who not only didn't get caught without contraception at Georgetown, but specifically knew the university didn't cover it and chose to attend for precisely that reason.

Well, this will get interesting as I kind of figured it would. Advertisers are now in a very bad position, losing no matter which way they go. If your target audience is Rush Limbaugh listeners, how financially hurt will you be if the rabid left says they won't buy your products?

*shakes head*

Ishkur: We must stop the evil Liberal agenda that strives to treat everybody with tolerance, dignity and respect, at all costs!

Except for the religious, amirite?

Those who support this mandate have demonstrated themselves to be anti-choice fascists. They use un-cited claims such as "free birth control eliminates unplanned pregnancies" (while I have cited multiple studies that demonstrate the opposite effect). They choose to eliminate choice in the marketplace, and have the government force their personal beliefs upon the entire country.

Ask them: If free access to birth control eliminates unplanned pregnancies, should we then make abortion, unless it is a life saving necessity illegal? You see, they are fine having a federal mandate force their beliefs upon the religious but balk, sputter and froth at the mouth if the religious attempt to force their beliefs upon them.

Neither is good, and the sooner these people realize they are on the wrong side and acting against choice and freedom, the better for all.

Look at it this way, the demographics are working against Limbaugh. In 30 years no one will be listening to Right-Wing radio. It's a smart business decision on the advertiser's part... they don't want the majority of people to have negative views on their products and services, do they?

Do you have links to peer reviewed scientific studies casting doubt on global warming? Because I haven't seen any in at least a year. But I'm always open to another viewpoint, unlike Rush Limbaugh fans.

This is not a right-left issue. It's an educated versus ignorant issue. It's a thought driven process versus a hate driven process issue.

The companies that i have heard about pulling ads have ads all over the place, they will just put ads on some other "conservative" excrement's radio show and spread their ad dollars around a bit more. To frame it like the people buying the ads are the ones losing out in this situation is pretty funny.

"This Women is dangerous - beyond belief"

"Only Ron Paul can tell you what he meant by "honest rape" but my guess would be that he was alluding to the fact that rape, while being one of the most unreported crimes, is also one of the most falsely reported crimes. Being a doctor he would be well aware of this fact. Also, if you made abortion legal when the mothers life is in jeopardy and in cases of rape and incest, it doesn't take a genius to conjecture that some women might falsely report rape in order to get an abortion."

Most advertisers are not targeting Rush's audience, just spreading the word. It's a shotgun approach, not a sniper's rifle.(pardon the Palinese)

And it's not the rabid left boycotting. It's women.

Men shop for themselves. Women commonly shop for two, three, four and more.

Advertisers know this and if they miss you on Rush they'll get you on American Idol. I NEVER listen to Rush but I see or hear ads for these companies all the time.
