"Zim!!! DON'T USE THE TIME MACHINE LOVE, ZIM!!"

That conjures up pleasant and amusing images of Fox executives with rubber piggies in their brain case instead of brains. Unfortunately, that's probably how they got most of their programming ideas in the first place.

Evidence:
1) Cancelling Futurama
2) Constantly pre-empting The Simpsons for football games or worse yet, Survivor episodes.
3) Everything else on Fox Entertainment.
4) 666 News.

Why would Fox preempt Simpson's for a show that's on a completely different network?

It would have been better if they'd gone back a little further and prevented that atrocity all together

I wanted to like it, I really did. It was decent at its best, terrible at its worst and certainly not good enough to be saved. Unfortunately, the cancellation probably means the studios will even be more wary of a science fiction type show for prime time. Here's a concept, make a good show with good writing and that has characters that aren't two dimensional and people will watch it.

yup, when the ads that are supposed to showcase the best of the show leave someone like me who likes sci-fi say "lol no" then the show was probably bad

To the studios a show like that is more about the toy merchandizing than story. Don't worry more just like it will be on the way shortly.

I liked it well enough to keep watching but won't miss it. Now if they cancel Alcatraz, I'm burning this motherfarker to the ground.

Man, Fox is going to be in trouble for a couple of seasons, considering they have almost nothing left in the drama department.

We all know Fringe will be canceled, Finder is bombing, House is gone, Terra Nova is canceled...

They have Glee, Bones, and maybe Alcatraz.

Of course, I think Fox will be able to rebuild better and quicker than NBC has.

2012-03-06 12:37:32 AM
Now TV execs will point to this as an example of the TV viewing public not wanting sci-fi - not that they don't want BAD sci-fi, just any sci-fi. After all, how can they throw so much money at it and it fail? Must be people hate sci-fi. That's ok. They have "Who Wants to be America's Top Morbidly-Obese, Trailer-Trash, Dancing Hermaphrodite?" ready to go.

Fringe will be gone as it is finally getting interesting. I see Alcatraz getting cancelled as the Neilsen Families just won't follow it.

I more reality programming in FOXs future. Plus more substandard animation.

Terra Nova gets points for making me like the bad guy so much more than the "good guys" in the very first episode that he could have been revealed to be a baby eater in ep. 2 and I likely wouldn't have been swayed back to the side of the "protagonists". I hung around for three or four episodes, then dropped it.

Has anyone watched Alcatraz? It looks really stupid. None of the teasers have inspired me to watch it at all, and the latest teaser -- four of the criminal return (again?) to search for gold buried on Alcatraz Island -- just made it look like it might be the stupidest show ever.

Is it as dumb as it looks? Dumber?

They should've cast the show without the kids - the little Girl sucked the energy out of every scene she was in and her big brother was a sulking, crying mess.

I kinda like it. I wanted to like it. But it's become an 'escaped prisoner of the week' show.

I remember being moderately interested in this show until I found out it was being produced by Brannon Braga.

That vague connection is literally all it takes - Braga's superpower is that his mere presence is all it takes to ruin promising Sci-Fi. We have to keep him away from Toronto at all costs - he could drive by the studio lot once and it'd render Fringe unwatchable.

Pretty much this. Sort of entertaining, Sam Neill (?) Jurassic Park guy, is kind of bad though. Don't get it, he is usually a pretty good actor. That being said, the escapee of the week thing can only go on for so long before they need to start addressing how the prisoners are coming back, where they are being held after capture, etc. Otherwise they are gonna lose viewers real quick.

Heh. I hear you, brother. However I fought my distaste for Braga after viewing the pilot which showed promise. But as the season carried on, it showed his greasy fingerprints all over it... bad writing, cliches up the ass, bad continuity... I didn't catch any farking Bozeman references but then again I bailed on the series with 6 episodes left. Just couldn't take anymore.

You forgot the most important part: Keep Brannon Braga the fark away from it.

I did pretty much the same thing. He tried his damnedest to fark up TNG and pretty much buried the entire series with that abomination called 'Enterprise'.

It was... boring. That's it.

I mean, come on, this is basically Jurassic Park writ large, it should have been AWESOME, right? But instead you end up with a bunch of indistinguishable characters, a storyline so contrived it's painful, and hardly any @#$%ing dinosaurs.

This pile of shiate should have been buried after mid-season.

Its far better then watching half the crap on tv anymore.

Stargate Universe was killed early too.

They made some casting errors(like the fat dork that was supposed to represent the audience), but the story arc was getting better and had a lot of potential. NBC/Universal sucks. Just because the show didn't pull BSG ratings, they think a better plan is to show more fake wrestling.
