You mean that old sea hag is still broadcasting?

So being a racist is better than being a misogynist? Aren't they just two different flavors of suck?

He'd know.

2012-03-05 11:33:37 AM
Imus continued: "I mean it's disgraceful. You got to show some guts. He has no guts. Look what I did. And what I did was a lame attempt to be funny. And it was three words and I went and met with these people after I'd been fired! You got to show guts. He has no guts. He's a punk."

And you know what? Imus is right. Rush owes that woman something more than just a quick and dirty half assed 'i'm sorry you got offended, you stupid ignorant slut' message posted on his blog.

I don't think Imus' comment was a personal attack. Limbaugh's was.
Imus' was an offhand (though inappropriate) comment.

Imus was sincere about his apology. He even went to the governor's mansion to meet with the Rutgers' women basketball team to apologize.

I doubt you'll see Limbaugh meeting up with this woman he called a slut and apologizing to her in person.

Honestly if you were his lawyer would you trust him to meet with her in person and not say something even stupider?

Imus is right.

Also, at the end of the clip, it says McCain released a strong statement condemning the comments. Any republican who NOW comes out against the comments, after the apology and AFTER the namby-pamby bs "I wouldn't have used those words" responses last weak, just looks pathetic.

All we can do is pray for the day when both Imus's lungs collapse at the same time.

I'd fit him with a shock collar. if he got out of hand, give him a zap and say 'rush is tired, he needs to sleep' then cut short the meeting.

wait - is that evil? I can't tell anymore.

Good point. Rush was only apologizing because his job was probably on the line. I didn't realize that Imus apologized after he was already fired. At first blush it seemed like the giant douche was criticizing the turd sandwich.

That's not to say that Imus didn't deserve to get fired. He did. His career has still not recovered.

I don't think Limbaugh will really be affected by this. In a few weeks, it'll be forgotten. Other advertisers will take the places of the ones that left him. It's unfortunate, but Limbaugh's going to go on being the asshole that he is. He's still the biggest name in talk radio. As long as he brings the ratings and revenue, he's probably untouchable.

He'll need to get caught in a gay sex or pedophilia scandal or something much more major than this for his career to be ruined.

i'm not so sure....Rush had to apologize. Apologies are considered signs of weakness by the dittoheads. by their own rules, Rush has to be purged.

Before the Republican debate George Stephanoupolous hosted, contraception was not an issue. It wasn't in the news. It wasn't relevant. Stephanoupolous posited the absurd strawman to Mitt Romney "would you ban contraception?"

Romney was flabbergasted and replied, "No one is trying to ban contraception." Since then, all hell has broke loose.

A responsible debate moderator would never have asked such an atopical, misleading question (putting the false assumption in viewer's minds the Republicans want to ban contraception.) But partisan hack Stephanoupolous manufactured this controversy and the state run media ran with it.

While the number of republican primary debate questions related to Fast & Furious remains zero.

No it's the mainstream media's fault that they forced the GOP to hold all those debates.

What I can't figure out is why the American people, as exceptional and conservative as we know they are, cannot see through these drive-by fartstream media lies.

A straw man argument claiming that Democrats created the contraception controversy by using a straw-man argument. It makes sense that it would be a right winger that would perfect the double straw-man.

So when do we get to see the double secret straw-man?

I don't think so. Santorum had already said that he opposed contraception before that particular debate. Stephanopoulos' question was a reaction to that.

He's been phoning it in for years. It is absolutely astonishing to me that there are still people on Fark who respond to this guy as if he's a real human being.

It's like he's got some kind of mind control over people who would normally be able to sniff out obviously trolling otherwise, but are completely powerless when faced with him. They're essentially arguing with themselves at this point. It's difficult to watch.

Imus has long been one of Rush's biggest detractors; back when Rush
announced that he'd gone deaf Imus pegged the cause completely correctly
(addiction to vicodin, or whatever pills he was hooked on), and even though
he's irrelevant and whiny about it, he still isn't as big a douchebag as everyone
thinks he is based on the Rutgers incident.

It's entirely possible that they aren't engaging you on this topic because you keep lying.

Good thing you didn't put in much effort.

Rush: "I know I called her a slut, but I didn't really mean "slut," it was just a poor way for me to indicate how much of a slut I think she is.

"The left"? Really? I am not a part of "the left."

This apology reeks of "I'm not sorry for what I did, I'm sorry for getting caught." He didn't apologize for what he said, just the way he said it. I guess, seen in that light, he was "sincere." He sincerely wishes he'd only intimated her lack of sexual morality, rather than saying it outright, since it's not caused such a problem for him and not because he's actually sorry for insulting her in such a public manner.
