Also had a girl in my grade level marry the band director after we graduated. He lost his job, surprised he didn't go to jail. Went from a decent 30-40k a year job to flipping burgers. But hey, they got a kid together, they seem happy...

In a very small rural town, with all the homophobia that implies. One kid goes to a teacher, in this case his swim coach, for advice about how to deal with letting his family or friends know he's gay and all the angst that entails. Coincidentally, teacher is gay and an ephebophile, offers to talk to him privately. Teacher makes a pass, kid's confused, hormonal, this is his 24 year old swim coach so assuredly he's in pretty good shape. Coach makes a pass, tells his friends because he's a jerk and wants to make the news when he's caught.

Didn't it say the boy came forward? There's no mention of his parents. Also, it's bull for a 20 year old to get arrested for kissing a 16 year old. I know it's not socially acceptable, but it should probably not be criminal.
