We do. I'm willing to make friends with a distinguished mustachio on an older gentleman, but keep your beardy business to your own basement.

Stubble on the right dude, though. Prowp.

The beard was here before you. Deal with it.

You hoors can take my life, but you'll never take my beard.

Begged my husband to grow a beard for me when we started dating. He eventually shaved it off and I still miss it. (Sigh...).

It it the ungainly friend one inherits with one's mate; I understand your brohood and would never seek to separate the two, but nor will I weep should time and attrition sever your friendship. :{

My girlfriend has informed me in no small terms that if I shave my facial hair off, she would be pretty unequivocally against it.

So screw you, Daily Mail.

Women hate beards?

Speak for yourself.

I think women dislike a poorly kept beard. No one wants to make out with Grizzly Adams, but a well trimmed beard is quite nice.

Hopefully, you'll have decades to bring him back around.

I can't grow a beard, so this is good news for me.

Bucky Katt: I thought beards were the ones who hated women.

No no, "beards" in that context ARE women.

2012-03-04 11:37:32 PM
They found 19 men with full beards - defined as six weeks of growth without any shaving or trimming

That's why right there. I don't know many women who prefer the wookie look. There's a big difference between that and a well-kept beard.

/have had beard for 25 years
//only years I've lived alone have been by choice

This is why women should have no say in society.

But, as a homo, I can say with 100% honesty: any man on earth is hotter with a beard or mustache.

2012-03-04 11:50:26 PM
In my experience, YOUNG women dislike beards. Women over thirty don't care so much.

2012-03-04 11:56:04 PM
Bullshiat. I love a nice, well-kept beard. So manly and just unf. Of course, not everyone looks better with one. That thing Keanu had growing on his face in TFA was.... not attractive. But the men who can grow a beard and take care of it.... me gusta. The beard burn is totally worth it.

200 women. Pfft.

The beard looks pretty goofy without the mustache, tho.

As a homo, I disagree. Don't pretend to speak for the entire homo community! ;)

VERY few guys can pull of a mustache. A very small number can do it and not look ridiculous.

A higher number can do beards. Stubble is often very good. Many can pull off a well trimmed beard.

This study was done on 6 weeks of untrimmed growth. I doubt many men look good with that.

It all depends on what kind of candy you offer them.

I must admit that as much as I've spent most of my life not liking beards on most guys, I have recently ventured into the world of having some facial hair.

I've got an awesome pornstache. Can't grow a decent beard for the life of me.

FTA: "The found 19 men with full beards - defined as six weeks of growth without any shaving or trimming - who agreed to help and photographed them as they were and when making an angry expression."

That's the problem right there. Keep it shaved and trimmed. I for one don't like a man who looks like a Civil War reenactor.

2012-03-05 01:20:32 AM
I've had a goatee for more than a decade now. Recently I shaved my entire face just to see what I looked like. Then I decided to grow out a full beard to see what that looked like.

The goatee is still very prominent because I think my face knew that it had a better chance of growing on that part I hardly ever cut.

Kind of unkempt at the moment:

/also I was hungover today and had a couple shots of bourbon to ease the pain before I went to sleep

I wasn't a fan of this, but the girls dig it for whatever reason, so it gets the occasional outing.
a4.sphotos.ak.fbcdn.net

My personal preference is the 2 weeks of being a lazy farker beard, as shown here.
a2.sphotos.ak.fbcdn.net

Turns to shiat after about 5 weeks, and parts of it get a pubic sort of a look, but its good while it lasts.

Study also confirms that men hate endless chatter about nothing of consequence.

Learn to live with the beard!

You look kinda like TJ Hynes from Bones.

I prefer a full beard to the stubbly thing + goatee my husband gets going after 20 hours (he shaves at night to save time). Every evening it's like he strapped sandpaper to his face and I have to be careful if smooching. Damn Scotsmen (3rd gen). He also trims the goatee too short and it gets prickly...

Negative.

I am a big supporter of the beard/mustache. It makes you all look distinguished.

So far I am just seeing a lot of cases of advanced stubble around here. Maybe I have a higher hated-beard threshold than normal?

criscodisco: This is why women should have no say in society.

But, as a homo, I can say with 100% honesty: any man on earth is hotter with a beard or mustache.

As a homo, I can say with 100% honesty: nope. Stubble can be hot, even a short beard can be ok, but beyond that... nah.

Different tastes.

I'm trying to make a case for the stache.

The stache is hot
The beard is not

Well-kept beards are nice, but it takes a while to get used to kissing a face with the stubbles.

On a different note, Terminator Salvation farking sucks

2012-03-05 01:40:56 AM
Okay, Keanu Reeves looks ridiculous with a beard. Some guys do. But in general, I'm a woman who likes a well-kept beard. It can make a guy look both mature and approachable. Maybe it's because my dad has had one my entire life. Freud would have a field day. But I stand by my pro-beard stance!

2012-03-05 01:43:04 AM
Being bearded also made them seem older and more aggressive

Translation: beards make men seem more independent and harder to cow with arbitrary social conventions related to appearance.
