If only Brietbart were here to tell us THE TRUTH!!1!! about the Lorax!!

Six months ago I had a dream that The Lorax was voiced by Samuel L. Jackson. That dream was way better than any trailer or preview I've seen.

"I am the Lorax and I speak for the muthafarking trees!!!!!!"

Always thought Wallace Shawn would be a great voice for Lorax.

Two words to eclipse The Lorax-- Hunger Games. It's going to be a monster!

The Lorax story misses the crucial point that a resource that is important and privately owned will be managed in such a way that it will be preserved so as to maximize the value to the owner. Once the resource is shared, it is a race to the bottom as each person attempts to harvest as much as he can before his competitors profit at his expense.

I liked the Dr. Seuss story when I was small, but it is what it is: a child's story.

Just how many people drove their gas guzzling SUVs to the theater to watch this?

Fun fact:

You're wrong as the deuce
And you shouldn't rejoice
If you're calling him Seuss.
He pronounces it Soice

Loved the movie. Wife and I cried at the end.

I got to meet Theodore Geisel when I was a little kid.

I know you're just trolling but Is there any important resource that is completely privately owned? Is there any way to preserve a non-renewable resource? Why should anyone other than shareholders care or want if a resource produces the maximum value to the owner instead of the maximum benefit to society?

...So is it any good? I'm very wary of Dr. Seuss movies that don't rhyme

/I mean what I said and I said what I meant, Doctor Seuss movies should rhyme, one hundred percent.

Lived kind of a sad life. Not a very outgoing person. First wife committed suicide (partially because of cancer - partially because Geisel didn't pay too much attention to her) and he was disappointed that he wasn't taken seriously.

You should be more concerned if Jim Carey is in it versus whether or not it rhymed.

Probably the best casting idea I have heard in a while.

I admit I am intrugued by the idea of Devito. But it seems a tad too "grumpy". (yeah I know it's in the book)

All I can say is, this better not suck. It is by far the greatest work by Seuss.

Please don't let it suck.

Please

Am disappointed that the movie has a huge merchandizing push, and nothing about stewardship.

Also needed Sam L Jackson's voice.

Because all private land owners are completely rational, and always know what's good for themselves and their land. Right.

I think he's saying that Hunger Games is going to be huge financially and will beat the Lorax's $70million opening weekend, which is probably true.

I love "record breaking" movies. It has the highest grossing 3-day weekend out of the last 9 weekends! It has the highest first weekend out of any Dr. Seuss movie! Since we're talking about movie records, let's never account for inflation.

They didn't mention that it has the highest grossing first weekend movie of any animated movie with Danny DeVito.

The movie was average, at best. The high gross had as much to do with a three month void of decent family-friendly animated movies, as anything else.

Yes, I took one of my kids to Secret of Arrity. It was good, but it never had a shot at $70m. No McDonalds tie-in.

Arrietty was wonderful, but didn't have as wide a release. Also, Americans want 3d movies, preferably with singing. And pretty girls doing the slowmo hair toss.
