moonshadow210: willfullyobscure: moonshadow210:

While I'm unsure of how much "brains" it takes to take steroids and spend every waking moment at the gym, I can assure you that use the traits you mentioned above toward things that will actually improve my health, well-being, and life overall: ie. my education, working with special needs children and mentoring at risk youth, exercising for my health, etc. It is sad that these women are putting themselves at risk for long term health problems. But what a great sport it is! Who cares if they take steroids and have an unhealthy obsession with being as bulky as possible. Yay for trolling!!

Like I said, give it a try if you want to know how "easy" it is to put on that kind of muscle, with or without steroids. Hell, It's probably pretty "easy" to run a marathon in 2:15, can do with a few months training, right? And you bet its "easy" to compete in target shooting. After all, you get to use a gun! What could be easier?

Why stop at sports? With a metronome and an ipod, you should be pro at piano in no time! No need to spend formative years on your skills, I'm sure that will fly at Carnegie Hall!

Hate on these women all you want, but at least respect the work they've put in. If you don't understand it, that's fine, but don't be ignorant. You can not look like this without years of training and a commitment that excludes them from normal pleasures of life, like kids or relationships or jobs. And that is no different than any other world class athlete.

At the very least, they don't care if you don't like the way it looks, and that's least one sign of good mental health. Please don't be rude to any of these women if you ever meet them in person.

RELIGION OF PEACE

I meant that Confucius quote to illuminate your obvious trolling of the thread and best of luck to you in the future, what with the being more subtle and all.

Body builders are accomplished in the same way alcoholics are.

Also your hack politician quote carries not quite the same credence.

Another quote for the hell of it:

We allow our ignorance to prevail upon us and make us think we can survive alone, alone in patches, alone in groups, alone in races, even alone in genders.

Is it scary that the bodybuilder chicks (body-wise) look kinda decent for dudes, and the bodybuilder dudes just look repugnant? And by "kinda decent" I mean in a comic-book, men-in-tights exaggerated kind of way.

That 'roid gut on the guy bodybuilder---ugh. Vomit-inducing. Blech blech blech blech. And, well, the whole thing.

The bodies of the female body builders, without the boobies, and adding a package, add maybe 5% bodyfat and some water to smooth over the veininess, at least look like passably decent dudes.

Actually, bodybuilders for some reason use a really dark fake tanning cream. It is meant for the stage, not for close-ups (like other stage makeup). So yeah, the tan is fake but the pic is real.

Pumpernickel bread: Oh come on. None of you guys have ever even wondered what it was like? What if she could curl 80 lb dumbbells with her vaginal muscles? Still not even the least bit curious?

No. You're a try-sexual. That type of thinking will eventually lead you to sticking your dick in something from which it never comes back out. Like those guys who need firefighters to cut metal rings off their dicks, or those guys who lose the tip to the blades inside their vacuum cleaner.

Seriously, if you're curious about that, then where does it stop?

The All Natural Bodybuilding Comps are pretty good for what you can do without using steroids.

I like the way the bodybuilding federations realised they were never getting drugs out of the sport, so they just divided the comps into using drugs or not using drugs.

Works for them, it would work for the Olympics too.

That sort of makes sense in terms of a continuous scale of testosterone-fueled characteristics: girls taking testosterone move into the high range of normal male physiology whereas the guys go off the end of the range and end up looking like cartoon monsters.

Plant Rights Activist: Those are shopped or they forgot to spray tan their faces. Either way.... ewwww

They don't spray tan, they use a cream that is rubbed on. And it is done for the competition stage, not for close-up portraits which is why it looks weird. The whole bodybuilding aesthetic was developed during the 1980s and ended up stuck there -- the hair, makeup colors, tan, bleach blonde.

Any of you saying these are fakes need to check out the plenty of youtube vids of female bodybuilding competitions -- that's exactly what they look like.

True, but the "all natural" is a bit of a joke too. Many of them start out using roids, so benefited from the initial development, and most are still taking a lot of "supplements" but basically just trying to stay ahead of the testing.

I'm pretty sure it's for the cameras and to work around stage lights during a presentation. It's not meant for looking at them from 3' away, but from seeing them lit from 20-50' away.

Closest I ever got (get?) to liking a body building chick was Hayley McNeff after seeing her some time in 2010. Not bad looking (outside of competition where they've all got that messed up bronzer-with-desiccating-agent thing going on, WTF) and I remember seeing an interview where she was asked for any hints on being a female body builder. Her response was something like "Don't take steroids, but if you do don't take the stuff for men because you'll just turn into one." and I figured that was about the sanest thing a body builder ever said. So, points there.

willfullyobscure: Hate on these women all you want, but at least respect the work they've put in.

I respect it...as an illness, or atleast an oddity in the human condition.

Same as I respect "models" where you can count bones, and ligaments, who's widest parts of their limbs are their joints.

Same as I respect people with OCD that wash their hands 1000 times a day.

Same way I respect starlets that inject shiat into their faces and end up looking more like tigerman.

Same way I respect dedicated gamers of very high level, that just so happen to be too large to fit through common doors or fit on normal chairs.

Words like "morbid" are created for a reason. These women are freaks. It may be blunt, or rude, but the words are descriptively factual.

Anyone so far outside the norm to qualify as morbid is going to get mocked. I mean, you know you're on Fark, right. The site that doesn't even require morbid. Homeschool chick would like with you about who's getting mocked around here. (Actually, as she's actually pretty, probably not).

Sad that people mock eachother? Not really. It's part of the human condition. It's a lot better than the simple hate that you're perpetrating in this thread. what most of us does may have some spite, but generally it's also full of humor. It's not vile and disgusting in the way your near fanaticism is.
[Fanatacism in this case meaning almost religious zealotry, like many of the various Fark Brigades(feminazi's or other overly liberals, creationists, etc. a lot of them cruise right on by any sense of humor what so ever and right into the land that makes Jeffery Dahmer look sane)]

When some fat 32 year old who lives in his mom's basement gets on fark, and tries to defend all fat losers everywhere about how much skill it takes to be a fat farktard, then you might have found someone that can probably agree with you.

Does it take dedication to body build, yes. A dedication born of a mentally unbalanced individual.

That's what it comes down to, and what you're refusing to see. Some dedication is admirable, I've seen amazing parents, teachers, military members, athletes, architects, doctors, all do a lot of amazing things. Other forms of dedication, however, are merely a symptom, a result of a broken mind.

A serial rapist? Yeah, he's full of dedication to keep at it, despite the risks. I bet it's not easy either.

Does that mean I have to admire him?
Your arguments in this thread state that we all should.

No. You're a sick fark.

2012-03-04 03:28:17 AM
I think the argument that these women are dedicated athletes should be nullified if they use steroids, which most of those in this thread appear to. If it were any other sport, steroid use would be considered cheating and would results in their prizes being revoked. Why should bodybuilding be any different?

2012-03-04 03:42:58 AM

Nogale: I think the argument that these women are dedicated athletes should be nullified.

Shortened that up to sum up what I think.
These women are not athletes.

It's a beauty freak pageant.
There is no performance, there is only display.

These people are models, they keep a defined physique, and pose a bit, but that's all.

They are as much athletes as they are actresses.
A few may qualify, some may actually play a sport, or play a role(same as any model who also acts or plays sports), but the bodybuilding itself, it's competitions showings, are only a twisted version of typical dog and pony shows.

I used to do MMA at a club with a few body builders. They were strong as hell but if you could survive more than a couple of minutes, they were toast. Those giant muscles require a lot of oxygen.

No, of course not. But sometimes people say things like "Jeezus Christ, the Birdman looks like a ridiculous douchebag!", without saying anything at all about his basketball prowess.

willfullyobscure: or maybe, "Why is that woman competing in the Olympics?? Clearly she is too ugly for downhill slalom!!" That is the exact comparison everyone in this thread is making

No, it isn't. Nobody is saying that these women are too ugly to compete in body building. Hell, they're perfect for it. People are simply remarking on their appearance, irrespective of whatever their profession is, much like the "Birdman" comment above. Frequently people comment on how grotesque MALE body-builders are, too. Is that different somehow? Are you going to jump to their defense the next time a woman goes "ewww!" when looking at the cover of a muscle mag?

willfullyobscure: Hate on these women all you want, but at least respect the work they've put in.

I mean... why? Just because something is hard to do doesn't mean that we're obligated to be impressed by it, and it doesn't mean it should automatically garner respect. If someone puts in a lot of work to do something that I think is stupid, I'm not going to be impressed just because of the work they put in. I'm going to think they're morons for spending so much effort on something so pointless.
