Is it already that time of year where someone rediscovers this sport for fark?

guess it's time to go start moving the yard equipment to the front of the garage and the snow equipment to the back. Thanks for the reminder.

I remember seeing a "sport" where two 'teams' of twenty guys or so square off on a pitch of dirt I believe, and when the "game" begins they just start wailing on each other, fists flying, makes hockey look like sunday school. There is a ball involved that they seem to pass back and forth between brawls. It is the most brutal organized sport I have ever seen, guys running full speed to sucker some guy in the face, deaths have been recorded. I believe it was in Europe somewhere, used to pop up time to time but haven't seen it in quite a few years. Any Farkers know what the hell I am talking about??

2012-03-03 01:53:02 PM
When i say pop up from time to time I just mean short clips on some sports show not the full ...er..game.

2012-03-03 02:00:30 PM
I don't believe it was a league but a once a year celebration type thing, couldn't be a league, there would be no players left after a few games, it was that brutal.

That reminds me of a sport I saw on television a while back. The Giants of New York took on the Packers of Green Bay. And in the end, the Giants triumphed by kicking an oblong ball made of pigskin through a big "H". It was a most ripping victory.

After a quick google search I found this trailer for Florence Fight Club. It's just a brawl with a ball that gets thrown around.

The thing-which was sent into the air in a last-ditch attempt to score as time expired, and which went through the other thing as a loud sound marked the end of the game-was watched intently by everyone in the building. Replays of the thing traveling through the thing were shown repeatedly, in slow motion, and from multiple angles, leaving no room for doubt that the first thing had correctly cleared the second.

Submitter, there is no tennis. The net is above the height to tennis, and the game allows for more than one person to volley.

Go back to kindergarten.

That's just nukkin' futz. I mean, you have to be able to flip upside-down just to spike the ball.

I'm not sure, but it reminds me of this game played in a zero-G environment, where the goal is for one guy to press his space-suit helmet into a goal-spot in the opposing players' territory, while both teams are armed with pistols that can be fired to freeze the powered armor elements of the opposing team. Probably nothing similar, though.
