HaywoodJablonski: Holding my nose and cheering for ManUre

Sorta same here, for two reasons: 1) it's Spurs, and finishing the season below them in the table is just wrong and an affront to the natural order of things, and 2) as much as I'd hate to see Manchester Utd finish on top of the table, it would be delicious to see the ridiculous cash overspent by Citeh end up with exactly nothing at the end of the season.

HaywoodJablonski: Way to commit to the new administration, Chelski. Your extended slide to mediocrity will be well-earned

AVB just could not motivate a bunch of over-paid athletes on an overly talented club.
He was too green to manage a bunch of elite footballer his age.

As a Spurs fan, I'd obviously rather not lose. But if losing meant United would get the points to beat City in the title....I'd take one for the team :)

I hate the idea of the spenders buying a epl title, but not as much as I hate the idea of the mancs having 20.

Why didn't he actually clean house then? All he managed to do was play some people out of position and coddle expensive veterans. I could do that

Spurs have played incredibly this season, and if you're willing to take one for the team, so am I: if it means that Citeh gets no silverware this season, I'd be okay with finishing fourth to Spurs third on the table.

how? sell Lampart, Drogba, Maluda and Mikel in mid-season?
AVB had 3 subs every match but never found the correct players.
Im not defending him, but he should not get the full blame.

Tough luck spurs.

Harsh, harsh handball there. Not intentional.

That's kind of my point. He can only do so much with what he has? Why bring him on board if he can't really affect change and why punish him for not demonstrating progress?

Once a Chelsea Manager loses Lampart, he loses his jorb.
I heard he impressed the Chelsea hierarchy with a great interview. AVB is a great talker and will land a coaching job soon. Chelsea will get Jose or Pepe in July.

If Man U wins this one, I will feel very good about winning the league -- cause they have looked crap today. And Championships are won by teams that get three points even when they have a crap game. Hard luck for Spurs so far.

2012-03-04 12:23:07 PM
nice reaction save by DeGea, he is keeping United in the chase.

2012-03-04 12:26:58 PM
Tottenham definitely outplaying Manchester, but just seem to find the net. Shades of yesterday.

2012-03-04 12:29:06 PM
Wow, what a shocker.

ASHLEY YOUNG with a great finish, and Manchester United are going to steal one it seems.

2012-03-04 12:29:26 PM
D'oh! Bad D Spurs, c'mon

2012-03-04 12:29:36 PM
Holy shiat, Manchester finds the net again, despite being outplayed nearly everywhere else.

Daylight robbery for Man U.

Tottenham 22
Man United 9

ok ok ok - now THAT was a goal - well done young

2012-03-04 12:37:52 PM
ASHLEY YOUNG gets that right foot curler working again, and that's three points.
Stunner. Spurs have dominated every stat except goals.

This has been such a strange weekend in the EPL. 2 teams get absolutely outplayed and win (though the 3goals have perked man u). Chelsea and Newcastle drop points. Big manager sacking. Fulham scores 5.

2012-03-04 12:50:00 PM
See, Arsene? Give the bench guys like Park some experience in the last ten mins. That's how you di it.

It's madness, I say.

2012-03-04 12:56:38 PM
Wow, De Gea didn't even blink there

2012-03-04 12:56:50 PM
JERMAINE DEFOE kills the clean sheet, but shy of a minor miracle, the game's long been over.

2012-03-04 12:57:33 PM
Well, it won't be a clean sheet for United at least.

/still hope...right over there, that tiny lil speck....next to that piece of dust...

How sad is it that in this day and age, Manchester United isn't considered a "spender". Don't get me wrong, they deserve incredible respect of their dominance of the EPL since its inception, but at no point in the past twenty years have they not been spenders...

2012-03-04 01:03:23 PM
Ah well, Spurs just needed that extra oompf.

Good game United, now go after City and make the most of this.

2012-03-04 01:07:29 PM
Yeah, two-horse race now. Would love to see City go down now.

I get what you're saying. But having the team that they've had and maintaining the same players for decades is way more respectable than how city pretty much cleaned everybody out and went headhunting. Pretty much revamped the entire team by using a bottomless checkbook. Very similarly to Madrid.
