The TSA has since apologized, claiming that the agent made a mistake. The agency released a statement reading in part, "We accept responsibility for the apparent misunderstanding and any inconvenience or embarrassment this incident may have caused her."

How many times is this statement going to be issued?

They've never once issued a statement saying "WE CAUGHT A BAD GUY!!"

Let me get this straight.

Breast pump + Empty bottles is bad, but Breast pump + Full Bottles is fine?

Oh FFS. If they needed to verify that the device was indeed a breast pump, all they needed to do was turn it on and see that the tubing had suction. There should have been zero need to actually have it applied to a breast.

I for one feel much safer knowing that an organization staffed mainly by high school dropouts with extraordinarily poor decision making skills is in charge of airline safety.

They aren't even trying to pretend that they make sense or have any consistency anymore. Sorry, Ma'am can't bring liquids in your boobs. You'll have to go and do that in front of the security cams so the frat boys can fap to it in the big circle jerk they're always having in the back room.

Anyone else troubled that it's now socially acceptable to victimize women, especially sexually, these days?

A link to the actual article would have been lovely.

I'll toss in what I always do for TSA threads. Write your congresscritters, write the US Bureau of Tourism, write to airlines, write to US Travel & Tourism.

Reference these incidents as examples.

Hey assholes, they already did everything they set out to do. They're done. Now the ones who are still alive are just sitting back and laughing their ass off. This TSA shiat is only making them laugh harder.

More effective than whining about it on the Internet for sure. It may not do anything, but it at least has the potential to do something.

I'll defer to your experience in the matter

2012-03-02 05:43:39 PM
Step One: Prepare to be boarded.
Step Two: TSA agent insist you do something completely stupid like fill a bottle that is supposed to be empty, take your insulin pump off, detach your kid from the respirator, try to get your frightened pet parakeet to walk through the metal detector, strip your 96 year old mother in public, etc.
Step Three: Ask for their supervisor.
Step Four: If supervisor is a moron, ask for the airport manager...

etc.

And those types of items were found before the creation of the TSA too. It wasn't like "Ohh here's the TSA" and suddenly everyones trying to sneak throwing stars and cannon balls onto planes.

The TSA is only good at stopping morons from bringing dangerous items (that they had no intention of using maliciously). They have yet to stop a legitimate threat before boarding a plane. If they did, they would be advertising it to the heavens. "Hey we finally did our jobs! We're worth it!" Instead these findings are relegated to Gizmodo articles (which should be bombed from the sky) because there's no actual threat.

Here's hoping that those nude-o-scan machines they love so much cancerize the living fark out of every single TSA employee without exception. Fark them all. Fark 'em to death. To death! To long, drawn-out, agonizing, screaming-with-every-breath, can't-even-go-to-the-bathroom-correctly-much-less-kill-themselves-to-e nd-it-all death!

I volunteer to help women drain their breasts before a flight.

/with my mouth

2012-03-02 05:48:11 PM
I'm confused. I thought you couldn't take breastmilk on a plain if it is over 3 oz? So why would they have a problem with empty bottles and a pump? Unless they relaxed the rules about breastmilk.

Yea, being forced to pump (at all, but I digress) in the bathroom at the airport is a beautiful thing...

Maybe someone has the numbers but given the amount of up'd TSA security and these types of incidents how many actual acts of terrorism were stopped at the gate and not by the passengers mid flight (ie the underwear bomber)? Maybe I don't read enough news but I don't ever recall reading an article that describes anything close to, "TSA Stops A Bomber At The Screening Gate"

I wonder what boobies filled with milk look like, are they visibly different from non-lactating boobies?

Don't you fret about that. TSA screeners are unionized now. I'm sure the shop steward will take care of making sure he's dismissed with all due haste.

TSA has never stopped a bomber or terrorist from boarding an airplane.
