Why stop there? Men will have to undergo mandatory transanal ultrasounds to make sure they're fully informed about their choice.

2012-03-02 01:51:23 PM
Someone should amend it so that men have to undergo a transanal probe beforehand.

And make them watch.

I would like for a female to explain why they will be voting Republican in the next election. Anyone?

2012-03-02 01:54:34 PM
Yeah, something about the fact that frequent ejaculation has been linked to decreased risk of prostate cancer.

So a trans-anal examination is needed to verify the condition of the prostate...

GOP - old white men
GOP - old white women vote the way their husbands TELL them to vote
DEM - everyone else

/yes this is a simplification of voting. but this is fark

A prostate exam and vasectomy at the same time? Now you're just trying to make it fun, and that misses the point.

I know. And there are those who will use their vote however their husband tells them to, and those who think women are either virgins at marriage or sluts...

I just cannot imagine a woman with half a brain and an ounce of self esteem voting republican as long as the party is on this anti-women track.

I guess we'll see what percentage of the women in this country qualify.

She left out the part about forcing everyone to cover these procedures *free* as a requirement of their health insurance policy.

Force men seeking a vasectomy to have an ultrasound in their urethra, and mandate that they listen to their penile dickbeat.

You forgot the part where you have to make stupid small talk with the person while they've got the probe in there.

We're seeing some awesome, ballsy Democratic women speaking out, and I love it. None of this should be an issue in the first place -- but at least they are being creative with their combat. The only way I could see this backfiring is if the loons actually agree with her....

I always feel a bit sorry when I see that pic. It doesn't look like she's at a rally. Maybe she's just a nice, if alarmingly obese, lady who took her grandkids to the park for some ice cream one day, and now she's the poster for the tea party.

Isn't it funny that the government is telling you what to do with your body.....telling you what you have to do for your employees.....telling you what you have to do for your students.

So if a girl gets preggers after taking the pill, will the government provide her with a free abortion? If a condom fails on a man, will the government provide a free snip-snip (complete with sick day wages, recovery and rehab)?

Which exactly describes the medical benefits military members and their families receive. While I was in the military, we did indeed take advantage of the birth control options. Now, thanks to Rush Limbaugh, I know I was a "slut" and a "prostitute" for thinking the taxpayers should foot that bill.

I'm so ashamed...

Yes actually. Depends on what state you are in. Most people understand that the cost to society for raising a new human to adulthood is infinitely higher than the cost of abortions or vasectomies. The drive to procreate will always trump logic. Throw alcohol into the mix and we may as well just admit that we are all just a few shots of tequila away from an unwise bit of rubby bumpy.

Oh I see- - the INSURANCE COMPANIES will pay for the free services, not the people who pay the premiums for the insurance. The money must come from a Magic Money Tree that every insurance company has in its tastefully-decorated lobby.

Actually, the way insurance industry analysts explain it, providing birth control and pre-natal care lowers our premiums.

Happy to be here to explain that to you. Ounce of prevention and all that.

Then the logical step is to mandate state sanctioned abortions for all people that can not afford to adequately (as defined by the state) pay the needs of the fruit of their tequilla binges.

And if we do that, lets mandate that poor men, men that will grow fat and bald by 40, men that are abusive, alcoholic, convicted felons, etc. get the big snip so that they will not become half of the problems.

Woo-hoo!

Well Im not really into government inserting itself into the patient/doctor relationship but if you are interested in that kind of authoritarian approach there are others who would agree with you. I'm not one of them but I respect your right to espouse those views.

You keep posting that graph like it means something. Yes, there was a baby boom in the 1950s. That's the fng problem.

The solution is not "have another baby boom".

You don't *honestly* think we can unplanned pregnancy our way to fiscal solvency, do you? That's..that's the dumbest thing I've heard this week.

I'm no expert... but when deciding on sterilization, don't a lot of couples discuss the merits of vasectomy vs. tubal ligation. Plenty of men don't want to have their balls cut into, but have to admit that a vasectomy is an easier, less invasive procedure. But if this lady starts to throw vasectomy roadblocks, then some women that may have been able to avoid a tubal ligation may find themselves without that choice.

Way to screw over your fellow women in favor of guys who don't want to get a vasectomy, lady. I only wish there was an ever bigger hero tag.

Sure...

Leading the pack was Blue Cross Blue Shield of Massachusetts, the state's largest health insurance company, which reported net income of $136.1 million last year...

Well I'll be honest. I'm not an insurance profit margin expert - nor do I really want to be. So if it makes you feel better I'll retract my silly joke in response to your silly joke about the money tree. Still not sure what that has to do with the insurance companies who are supporting the free birth-control policy. But I'm sure that they have plenty of folks who do understand exactly how much free BC pills helps their bottom line.

Perhaps you should call your insurance rep and have them explain it to you.
