If the Bruins end up facing the Jets in the playoffs, it won't end well for the Bruins.

Well, that's weird, my link with the video of the five on one is also greenlit (but in queue).

Jovo and Ellerby are looking worse and worse with every game. Seems like there are always turnovers from their lazy passes in the defensive zone.

And getting pinned in your own zone because of a lone backchecker is pathetic. Stop cycling the puck deeper and deeper in the defensive zone!!

Winnipeg is just loaning Blake Wheeler, and contractually they are obligated to give him back to the Bruins for the playoffs, right? Please?

Anyways, Ryan Miller has officially turned on 'God mode', so the race for 8th in the East just got even more interesting.

Jovo looks incredibly old. Ellerby looks terribly lost. Those turnovers early on last night set the tone for the entire game. I turned it off at 4-0.

This team needs Kulikov back in a big big way.

I do too, mainly for the city's sake.

Just took a peek at the standings; both Florida and Washington have 3 more games in hand (Winny's already played 66 games; most in the league) though.

I really hope Jovo retires either this year or the next. When he was signed, I was thinking we were getting the Jovo of 2 or 3 years ago, not the slow, over the hill turnover machine we got now. I think the nostalgia has disappeared.

I would like to see Ellerby paired with Campbell for a few shifts. Whatever Jovo is teaching Ellerby him is not working.

Definitely need Kuli back ASAP. This year and beyond. Cohen needs to open the checkbook to keep him (and Garrison).

Under other circumstances I would, but the way things are shaping up, it looks like Winnipeg, Washington, and Buffalo are going to be fighting over the last playoff spot (Toronto seems to be flaming out, and I think Florida will solidify their hold on the SE division). And you can take a guess which one of those three bubble teams I want to get in.

NYR would obviously be favored by a fair margin, but I think Buffalo could match-up OK against them to make a competitive series. Their last two games against each other have both gone past regulation.

The harder part is making it in. There's no reason Buffalo can't catch Winnipeg. Only 4 pts back with 2 games in hand and a game against the Jets on Monday.

The harder thing is catching Washington. I think the Caps have to be considered the favorite to snag that last spot at the moment.

I would like to think that, but our schedule is tough. Detroit, Chicago, Flyers x2, Boston x2. Plus a bunch against teams still trying to get in. I will say though, as a fan, I would not mind another series against the Rangers.

I'm a believer in the theory that a good rivalry will always help a playoff series, by which I mean, when there's a pre-existing hate for a team, both sides seem to push really hard and sometimes the outcomes are surprising.

Maybe it's because I've modeled that theory on my own team, the Flames, but I find if they don't have the desire to beat a team, they just cave when the going gets rough.

That's the exact reason why if Calgary makes the playoffs, I want Vancouver. All those players HATE Vancouver and they'll do whatever it takes to beat them. The last playoff series Calgary was in was against Chicago, after tying the series 2-2 at home, they left for Chicago and lost in a 5-1 drubbing. When they came home for game 6 I knew it was over, they just rolled over and died.

Were that the case with Vancouver though, I have to believe their hatred would push them harder.

Anyway, I got a little off topic there. Taking a look at the standings, yes, Washington looks pretty tough to catch with a 3 point lead and a game in hand, however, Washington's legendary inconsistency may rear its head and help you out.

But the Sabres are going to need to string a good number of wins together.

/you like Hodgson eh?

Probably more Panthers fans than Coyotes fans.

The last two Flames games in Phoenix were like home games. The announcers said, at both games, that Flames fans heavily outweighed Coyotes fans.

While there are certainly a good number of Panthers fans, when the top Northern teams come to town, there is usually a 50/50 mix of fans.

When I went to the last Bruins game down here, there were a large number of Bruins fans, but the Panthers fans were representing. I couldn't believe how many Jets fans there were there when I went to that game though. Not a 50/50 split like the Bruins, but still a good turnout considering they are in essence a first year franchise.

Ennis-Hodgson-Stafford has been Buffalo's best line the last two games.

Granted, they haven't shown up on the scoresheet much yet, but that line seems to have a nice chemistry and is producing a lot of quality scoring chances.

Buffalo just played in Anaheim on Tuesday night and it sounded like a Buffalo home game. Huge roar from the crowd for the two Sabres goals, and a loud and distinct "Let's Go, Buffalo" chant that could be heard throughout the game.

Calgary/Vancouver series are EPIC! And the winner has been known to go all the way to the SCF. I would love another Flames/Canucks series.... it would be the most explosive series in the playoffs.

But you can't realistically think that if the Flames meet the Canucks in the first round this year, that it would go any further than five games.

Ishkur: But you can't realistically think that if the Flames meet the Canucks in the first round this year, that it would go any further than five games.

Flames/Canucks series is 2-2 with both teams having lost and won at home.

If the Canucks had swept the season series, maybe 5 games, but our hatred for the Canucks runs deep and I'm sure Canuck fans didn't think 2004 was going to go more than 5 games.

Rev.K: Flames/Canucks series is 2-2 with both teams having lost and won at home.

Canucks - 2-1-1
Flames - 1-2-1

Shootouts don't count (let's call them ties as far as the playoffs are concerned). And the two Canuck wins were a combined score of 10-2.

But they got two games this month, so instead of hurling stats at each other, we can have a real serious look at what a possible playoff first round matchup might look like.

Rev.K: I'm sure Canuck fans didn't think 2004 was going to go more than 5 games.

It was a 6-3 matchup with only 7 points separating them. Nearly everyone expected it to go 6 or 7 games. NO ONE thought it was going to be a cakewalk.

There were a lot of things wrong with the Canucks 2004 team, most of it psychological. And the 2004 Flames were a tight, stingy Sutter team built for playoff grinding. Neither of these conditions are true today.

I live in Portage, which is an hour west of Winnipeg. I was lucky to make to a game against the Panthers in November, it was a shiatty game but the crowd was amazing.

i hope it stays like this in winnipeg forever and the novelty never fades

it'll be a small miracle if they make the playoffs this year

Probably, but there are a lot of NY, Boston, Detroit, Habs fans who pack the arena when their teams are in town. Even if I'm a Bruins fan, I still go to random Panthers games if they aren't playing the B's.

I met this pretty cool guy from Vancouver who was a Jets fan. He came down to see them play the Panthers and followed them over to Tampa to see the Jets play the Lightning the next day.

Technically a touchdown is 6 points. The extra point makes it 7.

Or was this already discussed? If so, my bad.
