I thought Malcolm McClaren was the one doing the trolling.

It's been said before but I ll repeat it
Don't you feel like you've been cheated?
It's been shoved down your throats, you eat it
They say it's true, you believe it
Small parts isolated and destroyed
I'd rather die than be a toy
There is one thing I will never do
Trust you

Fark, I have a friend who went to see Peter Frampton reperform Frampton Comes Alive last night. Everything old is still old again.

That album changed my life.

I was about veer into Heavy Metal Only Land and I heard this.

I listen to some Metal now, but the Pistols seriously broadened my taste.

Should have taken it. Not that many stupid people out there with that kind of disposable income.

It's 1977? Great! I heard there's an interesting new movie coming out this summer with one of the guys from American Graffiti and that British dude from Lawrence of Arabia in it. Star-something I think.

That's so weird! A year before their copyright expires on the album (according to the Copyright Act of 1976), they re-release it, slightly modified, allowing them to extend the copyright another 35 years! I wonder if it's some kind of coincidence?

FTA:The Sex Pistols will re-release their seminal 1977 album Never Mind The Bollocks, Here's the Sex Pistols later this year to mark its 35th anniversary

That should be semenal because I blew a load when I first heard this, thanks to my older brother. It opened a slew of doors and pushed me towards music with a lust and desire that could hardly be satisifed in small ways available in 1980. I would have never left the house at that time if I had the option to use the medium we have available in the internet. I got into Crass, Flux and some other more anarcho stuff and my opinion of the Pistols changed. I didn't see them as punk, just AWs. But then I got older and matured and realized in context of the times, the Pistols were very much punk. Of course, at this point in my life I consider Buddy Holly punk because punk isn't always about the sound, or the lyrics, or a style. It's guys doing what they want, and if people are rocked back on their heels by it, good.

No. Spinal Tap has to do this too. They mentioned it in the dvd commentary. But they have to do it every few years rather than the norm.

/probably that it's a terrible copyright grab, but given that it is inevitable, they wished they could have been the ones doing the swindling.

Jonesy has been talking about it on his radio show for the past few weeks. Says there will be extra tracks, including some that didn't make the cut as well as some of the Goodman demos....

2012-03-02 01:03:13 PM
i wonder what the "expending" will be.

The one thing of note they could include is this different album version:

ecx.images-amazon.com

But no one wants to own up to releasing it back in 1977. Not even Malcolm.

It's a good listen, if you want to hear what Glen Matlock wouldve sounded on bass, but it also serve as proof as to the remarkable studio work Chris Tomas did.

My first exposure to punk was a Chips episode that completely missed the point. Kinda sucked living in the middle of nowhere.

But once I wes exposed I was hooked. Still am.

I'd heard of the Pistols but hadnt heard their record, which was odd because my older brothers got me into the Clash in high school. Then in my first year of college i saw Sid and Nancy on cable one late night (late 86?), and that was it. The next morning I went around to everyone I knew until I found someone who had the cassette of NMTB. I lost my frickn mind, it was the greatest thing I'd ever heard, ever, bar none. Listened to it non-stop for months. I branched out into lots of other punk and new wave, but that remains my favorite record ever. They certainly made their money off of me, I think I owned every single thing they released at one point or another.

/why yes that was a CSB

ftfy

if you are going to AW, make sure you know your facts.

the "original art" was screened onto thirty shirts and old at SEX in London. did you have one of those?
no.
so you had a mass produced version that every kid had.
and if we weren't on the old internet where you could google it up like an expert, I'd ask you what colour scheme your "original" shirt was because the album cover and SEX shirts were different, that's how you can spot a SEX version and not the regular Winterland US knockoffs.

another telltale sign is the way it was screened onto the shirts. I have seen one. i doubt you have.
they are worth more than 100 bux as there are about four known originals from that run left on the planet.

I also own one of the "SID Vicious cheesecloth bondage shirts" they made i the eighties and it's in mint condition.
it's nowhere near worth $100 bux, even to a collector..because they were knocked off.
whats the punchline?

knock it off.

AW is successful.

Actually Poly Styrene came up with that stuff and that coont Vivienne Westwood ripped her off.

Malcolm McLaren and Vivienne Westwood were/are about the two least original people ever.
