I hope Andrew Breitbart is sucking a flaming dung-demon cock right now as rodents gnaw his eye sockets and perpetual anal maggots bore into his brain.

the last republican presidential nominee who wasn't a total farkstick was Eisenhower.. and he would be running as a democrat more liberal than Barack Obama today...

the crazies are in total control of the republican party, and the sane people have no chance of reclaiming it. what do you have in common with any republican since Eisenhower?

Eisenhower was great, I would love to get back to someone like that, but the times are different and that is impossible for now. We are not experiencing anything like the post-war's amazing prosperity and growth at the moment. Nixon was a pretty goddamn good president, albeit a crook and a dick, and Ford was OK. Reagan was mostly better than Carter. And even though Reagan is the left's boogieman, the right making him near a saint is even stupider. He was just a man, people.

Man, if only the R's would take tricky Dick as their standard bearer instead of Reagan. Nixon signed in the Clean Air and Clean Water Acts, and the Endangered Species Act if I recall correctly. Most of the major environmental laws that the left clings to were signed in by Nixon.

Sadly there is not a single Republican today who would vote for or sign into law any of those Acts. They would instead actively fight against them as too restrictive to business and the flow of the almighty dollar.

Hilarious and accurate.

If you want contraceptives, buy them, if you can't afford them because insurance won't cover them or because you don't have the money, don't have sex.

Don't sit around demanding that we subsidize you because you want to have sex but don't want to take responsibility for your own birth control.

And most of all, don't intentionally go to a college that doesn't offer birth control to students then whine and complain about the fact that the college doesn't offer birth control to students. Don't freely and openly admit that you know full well that the college didn't offer it and act as if they've done you wrong by refusing to give in to your demands. If it was that important to you then you should have gone somewhere else.

MeinRS6: And Farklibs are once again tweaked by a guy on the radio whose job is to tweak them. If only they could understand that they are the butt of the joke. Instead of listening to a Media Matters clip, listen to the entire show tomorrow and see how he is laughing at you as your anger builds. The point of the whole bit is 1) point out that people should pay for their own contraception and 2) make libs mad as hell and laugh at them as they fall apart in a wave of political correctness.

A lot of libs think Rush is a politician. He's not.

He is the leader of the Republican Party. He claims fealty and obedience. He gets it.

How is that not a politician?

Well I dunno. I think thats optimistic. The Dems are going to do well in spite of their tendency to fumble it. This over-reach by the Dominionists is going to breathe new life into the Dems. Women under 30 will come to the polls in record numbers. And they won't be voting for the old white dudes who call them whores. After that I don't know what happens but if the Dems prevent the Dominionists from making women into state managed breeders in Kansas and elsewhere they are going to have a very loyal voting block.

I don't know. I know my end of the spectrum is fed up with the blue dogs and wants a liberal democratic party.

I hear ya. Take comfort. The pendulum always swings back and if my daughter and her friends are any indication it is the young women who will be driving the next wave of politics. They have plenty of energy and they are seriously pissed off. They have found a focus for their frustrations. They are adept at social media and organizing. They do better in all school subjects than their male counterparts and have no qualms about telling old white dudes to STFU.

Very glad to hear this. The more young people vote, the less old white man stupid we get.

Why the reductio to condoms and sex?

Wow.. I am pretty sure that was unintentional, but you deserve a "Well Done, Sir!" for the irony just the same.

For what it's worth, this is why teahadist hate us (liberals): People like you mock their faith and ridicule the contradictions between their belief and practice yet you have no problem doing the exact same thing in the very next breath (By this criticism, I am making the assumption that you don't want people to believe liberals are motivated by the kind of hatred you expressed with your Breitbart sentiment). Oh, I'm not saying that the teahadist don't do the same thing (to a large extent, they are even more guilty than the herbal teabaggers like yourself), but I want you to know - not just you, though, but everyone that reads this - that, as a liberal, you don't speak for me. As if that fat piece of shiat Rush is not a stinking pile of human excrement, reading people that would actually defend him is even more disturbing. Why not just change your name or post a sign saying what you really are; disturbed 40 year old virgin who can't get any woman to willingly touch you therefore it is all Obamas fault you are a fat loser in life. Nor is it the immigrants fault. Nor the black/Jew/Muslim/.

I'll just say what I know many think. For some of you Repugnants, it is actually a joy reading the cognitive dissonance, hypocrisy, and lies that are used to defend these god awful positions. It simply re-enforces that not all is equal, and you dear lowly retards are simply not equal. Hopefully society of the future will be better able to take care of you with medicine, or isolation.

cameroncrazy1984: violentsalvation: Thank you for attributing Rush Limbaugh's statement to all Republicans.

Have you ever seen a Republican repudiate Rush and not apologize afterwards? Ever?

He does not represent me, although I do occasionally agree with him. I see him as more of an entertainer, and this is classic Rush trolling.

There are so many facets to the republican party these days that nobody can pretend to represent it. Most right-wingers like him just because he pisses off the left.

As far as I can tell, "because it pisses off the left" is the driving motivation behind most modern conservative positions.

This is what happens when the high school pep rally mindset is allowed to take over an entire political party. And its why they can hold such cognitively dissonant beliefs.

It's not about governing well. It's not even about getting yours. It's about sticking it to the other team.

Political discourse in America hits a new low.

While most other first world nations debate things like funding new infrastructure or what type of alternative energy research to pursue, Americans are screaming at each other about contraceptives and "exempting doctors from malpractice suits if they withhold information -- in order to prevent an abortion -- that could have prevented a health problem for the mother or child"

Just curious.... but don't insurance companies cover Viagra? So if they do why should I be paying for some guys hard-on so he can have sex?

I forgot to point out this.... but if these women have children, thats a lot more than what the pill would cost.

And to jump a bit further, if an employer can choose what they will cover under health insurance....what if I work for a Jahova Witness and I need a blood transfusion? Tough luck for me huh. That whole blood thing would be against my employers religion.

Ryan2065: Sandra Flue's testimony before Congress (new window)

These denials of contraceptive coverage impact real people. In the worst cases, women who need this medication for other medical reasons suffer dire consequences. A friend of mine, for example, has polycystic ovarian syndrome and has to take prescription birth control to stop cysts from growing on her ovaries. Her prescription is technically covered by Georgetown insurance because it's not intended to prevent pregnancy. At many schools, it wouldn't be, and under Senator Blunt's amendment, Senator Rubio's bill, or Representative Fortenberry's bill, there's no requirement that an exception be made for such medical needs. When they do exist, these exceptions don't accomplish their well-intended goals because when you let university administrators or other employers, rather than women and their doctors, dictate whose medical needs are good enough and whose aren't, a woman's health takes a back seat to a bureaucracy focused on policing her body.
In sixty-five percent of cases, our female students were interrogated by insurance representatives and university medical staff about why they need these prescriptions and whether they're lying about their symptoms. For my friend, and 20% of women in her situation, she never got the insurance company to cover her prescription, despite verification of her illness from her doctor. Her claim was denied repeatedly on the assumption that she really wanted the birth control to prevent pregnancy. She's gay, so clearly polycystic ovarian syndrome was a much more urgent concern than accidental pregnancy. After months of paying over $100 out of pocket, she just couldn't afford her medication anymore and had to stop taking it. I learned about all of this when I walked out of a test and got a message from her that in the middle of her final exam period she'd been in the emergency room all night in excruciating pain. She wrote, "It was so painful, I woke up thinking I'd been sho ...

THIS. Thinking that you can approach irrational hatred with compassionate understanding is naive at best. These people hate you because some fat man on the TV/internet tell them to. Just sit back and wrap your mind around that concept. These people see you as the ultimate evil in this country and want to legislate away your individuality and force you to live in a theocracy. No amount of logic or rational debate is going to change this. You cannot constantly take the high ground, because eventually you run out of high ground and end up trapped on top of a mountain with nowhere to go. In a perfect world with logical and sane opposition, maybe you could affect change through passive resistance but passive resistance with teahadists only reinforces and encourages their lunacy.

"Trolling", which is seperate in the FArQ from "harassing another user", is espousing a deliberately inflammatory opinion that you do not even believe yourself, in order to stir up shiat.

EnviroDude: animal color: Clearly, you've never met a woman. If you had, you'd know they really don't like to be called "sluts" for calling for basic health care services.

I think she is being called a slut because of her promiscuity.

No you don't. Either you don't think at all or you know that he was calling her a slut for marketing reasons.

Which is it?
