CATURDAY! YAY! What's going on Caturdayers? I've been gone for nearly 3 months, having gone through an especially rough period (husband got fired, had to move, had to stay with friends/family, no internet connection, etc.) but we are finally in our own place. Then last week as we were moving, my beloved Ninja-kitty got out and was missing for 2 days. I was pretty much beside myself. But thanks to some catnip spray (which I liberally applied all over the yard from the place he escaped) he scampered home and all is well. Anyway, just wanted to say HI! and that I missed you guys. {{{{{HUGS}}}}}

And I'll throw in a cat or two for good measure:

Cloudchaser Sakonige the Red Wolf: That aside, a few days ago, my 9 year old cat, Ceis, decided to park himself among the knick-knacks displayed on my (gas log) fireplace mantle. I was amused by that, so I got a photo. Not two minutes after this photo was taken, he went elsewhere. Didn't knock over or move a single thing, he actually tried to tread carefully.

When you find your cat in the midst of breakables you just have to let it go. It's amazes me how, when you try to remove said cat, it will always latch on to the one item to drag along that will clear off the entire surface.

quantum_jellyroll: One of my photo buddies works for Animal Care & Control here in Indy.
There was a big fire at an older apartment house (+20 units, 3 stories) this afternoon,
I just got an email from her.
The email said...
"I thought that you and your caturday friends might like this... We saved 6 animals from the fire on E. Washington."
She included a photo.
I just wanted to post this to give her props for going above and beyond the call of duty.
Her name is Tiffany.
She's the one holding the kitty.

Awesome job. Give her a huge hug (and maybe a drink/dinner) and tell her, "Thanks for your service."

the boys had been having some problems with buttworms since christmas due to the fleas in our old apartment. they came back clean from their deharbling and after a few more days i have deemed them safe to snuggle on my lap once again. however the baby is taking up most of my lap so they can no longer share me. elwood doesn't seem to understand that he's allowed to be with me now, jake has been a great snuggler and a lot more mellow.

sherpa18: Dog farts can't even begin to compare with cat farts/poops - JMHO.

I would agree with that opinion. Nuttsack has adapted to his new living conditions rather well, fully enjoying his tiny stuffed duck with ribbon attached make shift Cat-Toy. He drags that thing with him all over the room, often jumping with it into and out of a clothes basket. When we were sleeping on the deflated air mattress he got in the habit of sleeping by my head, and now that we've got a real bed to sleep in, he hasn't changed. Now, however he will park up by my head, tail to my face and pass gas - it truly brings the eyes to water. Something new that has happened though, is he's taken to occasionally giving my head a bath. I'll be laying down watching a movie or TV show and suddenly I've got a cat tongue lapping at my noggin. Also, occasionally he'll stretch out in the middle of the night and his back paws will bop me in the nose waking me up. All in all, I'd say we're still doing well as Roomies despite having much less room. Had to pawn the camera months ago but hope to be able to purchase a new one soon so I'll have pics in the future. (Yes, I've found work here in Des Moines, but it's an hourly wage I've not made since high school, so I consider it just a start and climbing out of the hole will be a long endeavor)

Happy Caturday all!!

Salem Witch: Poor little Suzy feels ooogie today. She got her vaccine shots yesterday. I tried to tell her that it's just one day of ooogie for three years of healthy.

I hope I got my shoes on correctly. She usually helps me put them on and getting them tied by squeaking her ball furiously in my face.

Awwww! Cuddles and scritches for Suzy and an extra hug from me. Peep helps me tie my shoes by attacking the laces throughout the tying process. Also, any unattended sneakers will be relocated 2-5 feet from their place of origin.

I do so enjoy kitteh greetings...think they are one of life's more subtle treasures.

Yesterday I got home from physical therapy to be greeted by Wimsey Whyte-Cat charging BANZAI! down the drieveway to meet me. I open the car door to exit and *FOOMF* I have an armful of big white cat, all purrs, 'mao's, headbumps and cheekrubs.
I think he was glad to see me.

Getting home from work this morning, I call for D'Artagnan (he insisted on being outside last night). Catch movement from the corner of my eye...from about five houses down the street zooms a familiar black shape in full gallop.
He slows to a trot when he gets to the driveway, but displays HAPPITAIL! at my greeting. Lotta purrs and cheekrubs handed out...although to be fair he probably was thinking about breakfast right then...
Open the door to go inside...chirps, purrs and headbumps from Riktor. He's been inside with access to food all night, so breakfast is not an issue here. He's just plain glad to see me...and the feeling is mutual.

Here are my two babies - Ivan is the white one, and Tola is the black one. He is the biggest mama's baby, and she is the smartest dumb cat I've ever known. She can figure out how to close off the tub and work the water, but she can't open a mostly closed door.

We just recently had a bit of a scare with Ivan. Took him to the vet because he's been very snotty since the move a few weeks ago, and turns out he has a heart murmur and on his x-ray, his heart is shaped a bit irregularly. Thankfully it was all normal and not a lump on his heart or heart disease, but still scary!

Whee, I'm back for a little bit. I'm off doing military-things out-of-state again, so no pics of the boys this week. Though I finally remembered to pull and upload the video I took a couple of weeks back, so here's hoping that Photobucket plays nice, 'cause I can't be arsed to muck around with YouTube for just this. Enjoy about twenty seconds of Sassy chasing his tail, 'cause I figure that a lot of people here could use a warm & fuzzy right about now.

Sassy in the Backyard, pops to a new window.

Here's hoping that it works okay. Taken with my iPhone when we were working on the mulberry tree, and pardon the accidental voiceover, my MiL didn't realize that I was taking video instead of pictures. The link seems to work okay, so I'm'a go find more tissues and a cup of tea with which to MURDER THE SH*T out of this cold. It's not bad, but come ON, sick when I'm on orders out of state and have the chance to visit new places? Not cool, not cool.

Back! Have also eaten lunch, am attempting to salsa & have some pix (6!) from inkydoo to fetch.
Road trip was quite a success; some of scouting team said they wished it'd been possible to move Harmony Fest away from NKyU a few yrs ago. Very pleased with Miami U & facilities there!

Actually #2 of series from inkydoo. I'll need to edit #1 a trifle as it's a bit profane -- might work for CADTM, but even those may be seen by children (gasp!) in the daylight. This has been brought here before, tho I don't recall offhand by who. I may find out later when I go in to add inkydoo to list of posters of this, as I save the others. Now am also recording save dates (gasp again!)
