Pants full of macaroni!!: I thought the cupcake trend had run its course?

Gosh no.

There are several "larger women" in my office who consume dozens of these fat grenades weekly and then wonder why they're single. The also smoke "to control their weight".

Darwin in action.

That's what the retractable door is for. He'd have to purchase a cupcake to get the opportunity to vandalize the dispensing area - at which point he'd be distracted by the delicious cupcake.

All things on fark ultimately tie in to the latest fat chick thread. It's like Kevin Bacon in Hollywood.

Exactly what makes it a cupcake ATM rather than a cupcake vending machine?

In fact, the ATM idea appears to come from one of the source articles. The inventors, called it "world's first cupcake automat," which is a lot more apt and less stupid.

Exactly what I was thinking. Unless there is a cupcake bank where you can deposit your cupcakes in an account and take them out later, then this is a vending machine. Still cool, though... provided that the cupcakes are any good (and there ARE bad cupcake shops that inexplicably still do business. Maybe there are a lot of people who've never had a good cupcake before).

automated food vending was widely in use during the 1940's in american cities. not cellophane wrapped preservative laden fare. fresh delicious foods of all sorts, from entrees to desserts.

Now all Sprinkles needs is a way to make cupcakes that taste good.

/Been to the LA one twice, the SD one once, always dragged by friends, and every single time the damn cupcakes taste like Duncan Hines mix at 10x the price.
