What the FARK???

Among the provisions is one which would exempt doctors from malpractice suits if they withhold information -- in order to prevent an abortion -- that could have prevented a health problem for the mother or child. A wrongful death suit could be filed in the event of the death of the mother.

Other provisions include requiring women to hear the fetal heartbeat prior to an abortion, taking away tax credits for abortion providers and removing tax deductions for abortion-related insurance. The bill also requires that women be told that abortions would increase the risk of breast cancer, a controversial theory that the World Health Organization, the National Cancer Institute and gynecological groups in the United States and the United Kingdom have said is incorrect.

Women of America. The Republican Party considers you to be little more than walking wombs without any rights at all.

You guys are forgetting the message to the children that this legislation is trying to communicate.

When you don't like something, it's perfectly fine to lie, cheat and do whatever the f*ck you have to do to stop it.

Why can't you libs deal with that?

Unless you're a single mother. Then you're a child abuser.

This leaves me speechless. Every single liberal and moderate voter needs to get out there and vote these GOPers out of office over the next few years. This is sick, illogical, irrational, and is something you'd see in a third-world country. Holy s*it.

I'll bet their next bill will be to ban single mothers from holding any employment at all.

It's obscene. Just absolutely mind boggling. There is no explanation other than the GOP thinking women are less than human.

Maybe they're hoping we'll all just off ourselves because of the current political climate and save them the trouble?

2012-03-01 11:03:55 AM
Think about what this means though.

A woman could get brutally raped and decide she doesn't want to carry the rapist's child. This is a routine exemption that even most pro-life people seem to support.

She goes to the doctor who, now that he is above the law, doesn't tell her that the child will not survive the term and that upon birth will cause extreme harm to the woman's reproductive system rendering her infertile.

This wold be perfectly legal in Kansas.

2012-03-01 11:05:35 AM
Don't you dare leave Okla off that list, subbs. Our legislatures want you to know that they can derp with the best of them!

This is f*cking insane.

I truly wonder how such piece of sh*t legislation gets written. I guess the good ole boys club in Kansas sits around the table and thinks hard about how to disenfranchise women to the degree of their liking.

"Well I suppose we could just exempt doctors from all consequences"

"Wouldn't that be illegal?"

"So?"

So Kansas is trying to make it legal for doctors to kill pregnant women so long as they don't have an abortion...

and Wisconsin is trying to make it a federal offense to be a single parent.

I wonder which state will be the first announce a bill that would forbid mothers from holding a job.

I'm not a conservative, but I'll give it a shot.

"Women are weak. If left to their own devices, they would live in a constant immoral state, just like in the Bible. The Liberal Media has only reinforced this notion by showing single mothers as strong women. Along with Feminists, they have destroyed the Christian woman and made her think she is worthless. While some of the provisions in this bill are a little harsh, this is war against God and in a war some concessions must be made."

Good enough?

More like make it legal for doctors to main and injure their patients...after all, the law is generous in that it still allows wrongful death suits.

Bears repeating. Or indeed,

A happily married, financially secure woman pregnant with her third, much-wanted, child, goes to her doctor for a routine prenatal appointment. The doctor suspects she may have breast cancer, but since chemo would hurt the fetus, he doesn't tell her. She and the baby both die, leaving her husband and two other tiny children bereft.

But that would be perfectly legal in Kansas.

Well, the ONLY exception is wrongful death suits. Those are still possible.
BUT, it would be perfectly, 100% legal to not tell a woman that giving birth will leave her unable to conceive.

Can anyone familiar with the world of medicine tell me how likely it is that doctors pulling this shiat would lose their licenses?

Women of America. The Republican Party considers you to be little more than walking wombs without any rights at all.

Who else thinks that this is put in not necessarily as a poison pill, but as a red herring to attract all the negative press? Then, in a show of humility and grace, a grand gesture of compromise, they take this part out of the bill, leaving the rest intact, and because they negotiated in good faith the bill will pass.

This is the way I see it playing out. Focus the outrage on the worst part, get rid of it to defuse the outrage, hope everyone looks the other way while the rest of the bill passes.

Actually, allowing the women to die would still be legal, as a wrongful death suit is a civil matter.

it wouldn't surprise me much, to be honest. I have no doubt they would love this to pass as it stands, but they'll take the watered down women are wombs bill

Aarontology: This is f*cking insane.

This is pandering.

It keeps the chumps riled up...and more importantly, it keeps them making donations one way or the other. The laws are passed by lawmakers who know full well that there will be immediate injunctions sought against the laws. And then the whole mess is tied up in court for ages on end. Excellent news if you're one of the lawyers working the case, a waste of time and money for everybody else concerned.

Number of abortions prevented: 0.
Number of unplanned pregnancies prevented: 0
Number of litigators, spokespeople and talking heads gettin' paid: dozens

Whatever the rights of the unborn are, they are quite beside the point.
