Farking poetry, subby. Clooney's a good man.

2012-03-01 06:30:45 AM
He tells The Advocate magazine, "I think it's funny, but the last thing you'll ever see me do is jump up and down, saying, 'These are lies!' That would be unfair and unkind to my good friends in the gay community. I'm not going to let anyone make it seem like being gay is a bad thing. My private life is private, and I'm very happy in it.

He adds, "One day the marriage equality fight will look as archaic as George Wallace standing on the University of Alabama steps keeping James Hood from attending college because he was black. People will be embarrassed to have been on the wrong side. So it's encouraging to know that this too will seem like such a silly argument to our next generation."

Great, as if I needed another reason to want to fark his brains out.

Majick Thise: Should have the Hero tag

It is rare that I hear a Hollywood star say something and think, "I really admire that guy/lady." Don't get me wrong, I still hate him for his good looks and the hotties he hooks up with, but I admire Clooney, now.

Think your gay what, smitty?

The only thing that would make that headline any better would be random shifts in the point of view.

I've never really been a Clooney fan. He gets on my nerves.

It's nice to know he seems like a good guy though.

Agreed. I never cared for him either, but he's spot on and I respect him for what he said.

From the same people that suggest that Tom Cruise is gay? Perez Hilton I guess? Wishful thinking on his part?

Goddamn right. Though I'd add that this already seems silly to the next generation. Young people don't give a fark about homosexuality/heterosexuality OR race.

My little sister is in college, and her and her friends invite me to a lot of parties (her friends like my sense of humor apparently). Let me tell you, it's really really heartening to hear how utterly, casually oblivious they are to race and sexuality when they don't think a responsible adult is around. Casually mocking old stereotypes, an utter lack of cowed reverence for the old racial slurs and epithets... They truly do NOT care at all about race, gender and sexuality. It's pretty awesome to witness, actually.

people have believed that there is a god of some type for thousands of years.

in fact, more people believe in a god that do not, it seems.

there is (well probably more but still) one constant thing in religion -

homosexuality is abhorrent.

homophobia will be around for a long damn time.

it isn't like not liking black people or muslims or fatties. it's about sex.

and dudes buttfarking other dudes makes people queasy.

personally, i don't give a shiat one way or the other - but people claiming that it is going to get better any time soon are fooling themselves.

i don't know of many romans or greeks these days that are concerned about what happened in ancient rome or greece concerning homosexuals. you might as well ask people living in salem what they think about witches these days.

Tell that to the Greeks, or the Romans, or various Asian cultures...

Protip: There have been a lot of religions in this world beside the Abrahamic ones and not everyone through history has been as uncomfortable with homosexuality as you apparently believe.

Jeter, Clooney, Dicaprio are the smart ones, they know they will be looking for a new relationship at some point so they don't get married, Timberlake is about to embark down the same road as Tiger Woods.

protip - the greater portion of the world's population that are religious are either muslim or some form of christian.

so who gives a shiat about the others? we are talking about the here and now, and in the here and now the greater majority of religious persons are either muslim or christian.

and they hate the gheys.

you can spout crap about how the ancient romans had boy love or how greased up spartans buttsecked their young men but that has no bearing on today.

much like religion in general.

find me a current, modern religion that says that god is ok with homosexuality.

pretty much you have Hinduism and what, witchcraft and satanism?

yeah, those are hotbeds of religious activity. 0_o

guys, pretty much all religions that have a "god" per se think that homosexuality is wrong and against god's will.

I have always figured the reason for this "belief" is that homosexual couples won't produce offspring to extend the religion to future generations.

Yeah, he's all over the map with this enough that I'm putting good money on either:
A. He's just trolling or
B. He's just on the low end of the IQ distribution and wants to justify his stupid opinions any way he can, so he'll simply dismiss anything which challenges his dumb worldviews

those statements are separate statements. they have a relationship to one another but are still mutually exclusive.

my point was that people have been believing in god for thousands of years.

if people can believe in that particular bullshiat for thousands of years, then don't expect that the average person's tolerance for homosexuality is going to change anytime soon.

fact is that most people simply think homosexuality is wrong. most people also tend to either believe in a god of some type or be religious in general, and there is a constant in modern religions thatn homosexuality is wrong.

stop trying to side-step the issue.

Brahtip: China is the world's most populous nation, with over a sixth of the entire world's population just in that one country. The rest of Asia also has a lot of people in it too, and most of them are various flavors of Buddhist, Shintoist and various "folk" religions.
Derptip: The posts you're making so far only make sense if you think the world consists of only America and Europe.... and even then you're asserting that the entire history of religion and culture in those areas has been hostile to homosexuality which is quite easily disproven with a reminder of how the Greek and Roman cultures were before the invasion of the Abrahamic religions.

not really trolling or being unclear in anyway. i am also an athiest that doesn't give a crap who farks who or in what way. i am also not in anyway all over the map. do some damn research.

pretty much all (excluding hinduism, satanism and witchcraft) modern religions have a problem with homosexuality. yes, there are sects here and there that support gheys. those are few and far between and so small that they barely rate mentioning.

my point is this - and has been this since my Boobies in this thread - that religion has been going for thousands of years, and the main 2 - Christianity and islam - don't like gheys.

that isn't going to change anytime soon, no matter what kind of message tolerance groups may be sending or how many tv shows that showcase gheys may be on tv, and the fact remains that most people simply think homosexuality is wrong irregardless of religion anyway - no matter what may be going on in their own bedroom.

i am pretty sure there are fairly intelligent people on fark. this shiat isn't hard to understand.

there is a reason Daniel Tosh acts so gay on his show, for example - it is absolutely shocking to the majority of people that see it. it isn't to "increase tolerance". it is to make people gasp in horror.

do some research. asian cultures still don't like homosexuals. Japanese homosexuals still tend to marry the opposite sex and conceal their identity. China is also historically and currently if asked against homosexuality.
