Nice try, but he started his career with the Marlins so he should have some clue on how to handle a bat.

So are you suggesting that he forgot how to handle a bat? The guy spent 7 seasons in the NL, if he forgot how to bunt while he was in the AL then he's just a dumbass. You were trying to take a potshot at the DH in general. This isn't an NL/AL thing, this is a dumbass thing.

AJ wasn't a cancer or a Pavano. Was he a bust with the Yankees? Yes, with flashes of good here and there. It was entertaining to see him hit Arod in the face with a pie and add some life to the otherwise image-obsessed, stick-up-the-ass corporate persona Steinbrenner insisted upon.

Most importantly, they won a WS with him there. I'll take his mediocre performance if he gives us game 2 of the '09 Series again, anytime.

/I liked him too, but he did need to go

I'll echo above;

AJ did much to help loosen up the clubhouse, which I think is a major part of the '09 championship.
Did he suck? Often, but you can't say he didn't try, and like I said before, I think he'll do much better away from the bright lights.

AJ was the guy I wanted to win, but figured he would lose. A couple close calls in the strike zone was all it took for him to lose his mind. I didn't hate him like I hated Pavano or to a lesser extent Kevin Brown.
