As someone who's obese, I'd just like to say that maybe they should move more if they want to be included.

FTA:
But Helen Ward of The Parents' Voice, a political party that formed in opposition to a Burnaby school district anti-homophobia policy, said the organizers' song choice only stands to divide the community.

Somehow, I don't think the pro-homophobia group is really concerned about things that divide the community.

There is absolutely nothing that a gaggle of suburban soccermoms won't find offensive.

I do find it a bit ironic that the only kids 'bullied' today will be the ones who choose not to wear the pink shirts.

Canada has been steadily ramping up the derp in the past half decade or so. There's supposedly some extremely aggressive pro life group trying to infiltrate the Liberal party in Ontario and actually got one freak elected. His sole purpose is to squawk about making abortion illegal again. Even the hard line conservatives are condemning him and his backers.

Who cares if people find it offensive? This is talking to kids, not adults, and kids don't tend to get offended by pop music.

well I for one am glad our neighbors to the north have some derp of their own

Learning how to dance is easier than neurosurgery. Actually, considering what passes as dancing these days, it is easier than toasting a pop-tart.

In the process of learning how to dance you can burn off the extra fat. Eating less pop-tarts wouldn't hurt either.

Problem solved.

My niece has a rare ear disorder that makes kids sometimes pick on her since she doesn't enunciate well and she isn't represented in Lady Gaga's song so OBVIOUSLY that video is discriminating against her and making fun of her condition!

Pop culture is crap now, get over it. the music may or may not promote exclusion, but kids are stupid, and they made an effort to be kind, even if they chose a shiatty song they liked. Go to an Arab nation if you want asexuality.

There already are pro-life Liberal MPs, unless you mean at the provincial level.

Whenever I see outrage like this, I wonder where these concerned parent groups are when stuff like Penn State happens.

You have a coach raping boys for decades, a circle of people who knew about it and enabled it for decades, and judges taking it easy on the coach (low bail, keeping the trial local, etc.).

You have idiot students running around rioting because almighty JoePa (rot in hell, cancer was too good for you) was fired.

Where the hell are all the concerned parents groups on this issue? It's only now that the Feds are involved that it looks like real justice may happen.

Well these particular concerned parents were in Canada, which is a completely different state than Pennsylvania.

Second to last paragraph:
But Parents' Voice says someone needs to watch out for students who aren't represented in Gaga's message about inclusiveness, such as children who can't dance or are obese.

Subby quoted it verbatim.

Ive seen most of her videos. So because she advocates inclusiveness for everyone, some group of helicopter parenting groups decided that 'everyone' doesn't mean 'everyone'? Semantics made up by a group that wanted to make up some random crap and be mad at it.

Other countries have real problems, like people taking RPGs to the face, dying of hunger, no schools for kids etc. If they want to help others, begin where there are things you can help with. If you have to make up shiat to get attention, you probably don't deserve a voice.

As someone who can't dance, I painfully object. Unless you meant dancing is hard, but not that hard, then I agree. It's still hard.

You missed it; it's near the end.

As a suburban mother of two elementary kids, I have to say the only thing I find offensive about these sorts of things are the responses from other parents. I am torn between wanting to join the PTA here so I can be actively involved and wanting nothing to do with a group that is overwhelmingly made up of meddlesome bible-thumping harpies.
