JackieRabbit: My sister will probably mourn. I'm pretty sure she rubbed out a few to his spreads in Tiber Beat magazine.
buckeyebrain: So now the idiotic "RIP" meme extends to headlines.[welcometofark.jpg]
2 grams: They didn't play thier own instruments, you know.
bluorangefyre: [img.photobucket.com image 640x512]
SilentStrider: I have no idea why this headline is supposed to be funny.
[image from i235.photobucket.com too old to be available]R.I.P.
sharkbeagle: It's the last train to Clarksville.
raymondbree: Just saw his face fate. Now I'm a bereaver.
Coelacanth: I used to know this woman named Janet who hated the Monkees because they 'threatened' the Beatles.
Coco LaFemme: Optimal_Illusion: Daydream Believer (new window)Axl Rose totally ripped him off...
cryinoutloud: I barely know who this guy is, and I don't get the headline. Carry on carrion.
EyeballKid: My conDolenzes.
The First Four Black Sabbath Albums: RIP meme propagators are typically people who have absolutely nothing of value to add to any threads. It's a good time to make new additions to your ignore list! Troll away, guys!
RIP CAVY PHONES
BKITU: tb tibbles: They were snarked off as the "Pre-Fab Four",but during a visit to the UK in March 1967,they met up with the the Beatles during their Sgt. Pepper sessions. The Fabs were duly impressed with the Pre-Fabs.John invited them to a party after a day of recording. The party inspired Micky's psychedelic/ragtime/scat rant "Randy Scouse Git." As Micky put it, "I was told I had a wonderful time."
Nem Wan: Walter Koenig never has to wear that wig again![img855.imageshack.us image 480x269]
Judy Jetson: Who didn't do this with their friends?[i268.photobucket.com image 140x145]
cryinoutloud: I barely know who this guy is, and I don't get the headline. Carry on./How farking old do you have to be to remember the Monkees? They were almost before my time, and I'm old.
Zombie Eater: gao81: Crystal Girl: AiryAnne: I saw them back in 1986 or 1987. "Weird Al" opened.I also saw a show from that tour. I had several people in college argue with me that I must have been remembering it wrong.I too saw a show from that tour, at Six Flags Astroworld. I still have the program somewhere.CSB - during their resurgence in '86/'87, I couldn't get enough of their music and tv show. My parents suggested I write a letter, which I did, as best as any 6-year old could do at the time. I don't remember how much time passed, but one day I came home to find an envelope addressed to me. Inside was an autographed picture of Davy, Micky, and Peter, with a note that read, "Dear gao81, thanks for the support!" I remember being in shock. Recently, my parents told me that before mailing my letter, my Dad had included a note of his own, telling them how much of a fan I was, etc.... I still have the picture too./csb/RIP DavyWhy did your parents name you gao81?[fc07.deviantart.net image 38x41]
"Where is Davey Jones????"
slimfast: Two down, one to go...
BohemianGraham: cryinoutloud: Andrew Wiggin: Coco LaFemme:You're just shiatting on a dead guy.

TV's Vinnie: OtherLittleGuy: [images.wikia.com image 640x512]RIPOddly enough, Roddenberry deliberately cast Walter Koenig to be the "Davey Jones" type character on Star Trek to draw in the Tiger Beat readers to watch it, just to make the studio suits STFU about glamorizing a Rooskie on an American TV show.
teeny: My kids are currently enjoying the Monkees via Netflix. My parents had a VHS tape with episodes of their show from start to finish. I'm quite sure I wore the damn thing out as a kid, particularly when I was sick in bed.
2 grams: They didn't play thier own instruments, you know./just sayin

mikebdoss: Came for Bowie references, leaving satisfied.
farkerts: I don't get the headline, and I'm thinking that's probably a good thing.
santadog: IXI Jim IXI: Car_Ramrod: Despite the headline, we're talking about The Monkees, not The Beatles. The Beatles only had a fake drummer.I still think Ringo was one of the world's first drum machines...Ringo was the worlds luckiest drummers.
mjg: I didn't see Black History Month ending this way.
IWillRuleTheWorld: So MSN can predict the future? The time on the article is 2/29/12 4:19 PM EST.
