Not so much "scan" as "extrapolation."

The weatherman in this case is Dallas Raines- been channel 7's weatherman for a long time
now. yeah he dresses snappy, and we don't particularly like him for the reason that he often
completely ignores our mountain area. so do almost all the other weatherclones on LA tv.

futurescan is basically predicting what's a week out or so. mostly a time filler. My take on it, which
isn't applicable in the flatlands, is this: Don't like the weater? just wait 20 minutes...

Did you know that basically everyone, everywhere, believes that about their area? I've seen people from all corners make that very statement.

The only thing dumber than FUTURE SCAN is some kid writing a filler article on how only old people watch tv weather reports.

"I never watch the local news if I can help it. I find its content to be generally insignificant and its delivery vapid."

oooooooookay...

*Quick Trip to Wikipedia- as I haven't watched TV in close to a decade...* (new window)

Cougar Town is an American television sitcom that premiered on ABC on September 23, 2009. Set in Gulfhaven, Florida (nicknamed "Cougar Town" since its high school teams are the Cougars[1]), the series focuses on a recently divorced woman in her forties facing the often humorous challenges, pitfalls and rewards of life's next chapter, along with her son, ex-husband, and friends who together make up her dysfunctional, but supportive and caring extended family.[2] The pilot episode of the show was broadcast after Modern Family. ABC officially gave the series a full season pickup on October 8, 2009.

I'd rather watch the local news, if it was down to these choices. Also your standards for the adjectives "vapid" and "insignificant" apparently need a second look.

Way to miss the relevant points, he is a.) a colleague of RIC ROMERO & b.) a Farker in a past story mentioned encountering him in the wild (or the Pavillions Supermarket by the Equestrian Center?) & assesed his teenage daughter to be HOT

1) Doesn't every local news affiliate in the country have some sort of DOPPLER 5000 FutureCast!! "weather predicting" system?

2) Your blog sucks.

Yes to 1, Amen to 2

It amazed me during the years I worked for local TV stations how the dipshiat promotion people would have focus groups and come out with "Your Early Warning Neighborhood Forecast".... WTF happened to just "the weather"? What's even worse is every farking station calls their weather team: "Severe Weather Team 9" or "Storm Center 6" or "First Warning Storm Team". Guess what dipshiats, out of 365 days in a year, there are severe storms for maybe 14 of them. So you go ahead and brand your weather people for the 3.8% of the time the weather is scary? It is the ultimate in "scare the fark out of the audience to get them to tune in" stupidity I don't miss now that I no longer work in local TV.
