FTA: "The veterinarian that treated the dog said animals can be seriously injured by eating the waste. "I've seen quite a few more cases since they've legalized it for medical use than we saw previous for that," said Melissa Etheridge, a vet at Hampden Family Pet Hospital. "In really severe cases it can progress to seizures, tremors, and coma even and ultimately potential of death."

Possibly because the owners didn't want to be busted for illegal posession of Weed, and/or realized the dog was just stoned and it would wear off soon enough.

Also - It's Labrador, Man.

Why would any respectable dispensary or grow even have waste? Cannabis is like the buffalo man, you gotta use every damn part.

Anyone see that American Weed doc from Natl. Geo yet?

Yeah. He got into the brownies that were past their best-before date. All that refined sugar can kill you.

I woke up one morning to find what I thought were leaves on my bed. Then I noticed my chewed up 1/8th of meh-weed and my roommate's rat terrier/whippet thingy passed out on my bed. Later he moved to the window and slept all day. Seemed OK.

The chocolate in the edibles is a much greater health concern for the dogs. This type of journalist is one rung below personal injury lawyers on the integrity scale.

Actually, it's probably the cocao content that would be most likely to kill the dog.

The whole farking article was the same old anti drugs SCARY!!! propoganda piece, re-hashed and made for canines.

Arthur Kane and John Ferrugia are utterly useless journalists, worthless, lobbyist agenda pushing shills.

And that's me being polite. Really, really polite.

sure, but change isn't gonna happen from the top down. The feds are not gonna be busting people for possession.

"The operator of one of Vallejo's more prominent medical marijuana dispensaries was arrested Tuesday, following a raid on his home, business and associated properties by federal, state and local law enforcement agents."

Ah, a dealer, they didn't go after him for simple possession or growing his own. The feds lack the resources to go after individuals who are not high profile dealers. Most MJ prosecutions, even for dealers/suppliers, are at the state/local level.

Either way, I still object to my tax dollars being used to support a failed policy, i.e. the 'War On Drugs'. How about using those same tax dollars for something more useful like health care?

I can only assume that this brave, completely unbiased reporter has also checked every hospital, dentist, and clinic to see that the medical waste is handled properly, along with every pharmacy and supplement store, and that he makes sure that any charter bus companies and airlines aren't just pouring the blue shiat-water into creek-bound storm drains (as on of our local ones does, despite regulations), that the local dump is segregating batteries, freon, mercury-containing light bulbs, household and industrial chemicals and other toxic wastes, that local restaurants are using proper grease traps, etc, etc, etc.....you know, things that can actually degrade the environment and even hurt or kill people, pets, and wild animals.....

......of course he has!

OMG WEEEEEEEEEEED! BOOOOGA BOOOOOOGA!!!!!!

My friends dog ate 3 pot brownies once while he was hooking me up.

Seemed okay.

A few years later, he planned a night for his lady involving brownies. The other dog ate one of them. It was just fine.
