Somebody catch me up: is it shenanigans from the GOP establishment trying to squeeze Mittens thru yet?

2012-02-28 08:12:07 PM
Newt:

zzzzzzzzzzz..........

2012-02-28 08:12:08 PM
CNN showed a clip of Romney saying that because every job Santorum has held has been government-related, that Santorum has never had a job.

#WhatisthisIdon'teven

/Also, lobbyist jobs don't count as private sector for some reason

The platitude-o-tron is pretty flat here.

What the fark is Newt talking about? I turned it on right as he started to talk about cutting down a tree?

2012-02-28 08:14:43 PM

Craptastic: seventypercent: The exit polls seem favorable to Romney.

Everything is happening according to our plans. muaaahahahahaha

Well, I'd rather see Santorum win (for the lulz), and while I don't think he will, it's still fun to cheer for it.

2012-02-28 08:14:52 PM
Newt is talking about lynching people I think. I don't really know.

"He told me we're gonna tie a rope about fifteen feet up there in that there tree, Ya'll in Georgia know a ton about that right?"

2012-02-28 08:15:50 PM
Newt 15,000 pound tree?

Really?

2012-02-28 08:16:11 PM
At this point, I'm rooting for a broken convention, just for the spectacle. And the GOP establishment will turn to... Buddy Roemer.

about his eventual return to relative obscurity.

Galileo was right about gravity? Somehow I thought that was Newton... and he was a history professor?

This story has gone five minutes too long.

Newt doesn't use a teleprompter.

Newt doesn't have staffers write his speeches.

Newt literally just goes out on a stage and rambles on whatever topic is dear to his heart that day.

9beers: I don't get the point of the four counties in Michigan that border Wisconsin being on central time. Obviously, they also border Michigan counties as well. You can actually be farther west of a county that's in the western time zone and still be in the eastern time zone.

Those counties probably do more business with Wisconsin than with their Michigan neighbors; keeping them in the same time zone as Wisconsin would make more sense for commerce, I guess. I think that's the reason why one county in Oregon is on the same time zone as Idaho, and not with the rest of the state.

/has popcorn ready for results
//non-Mormon from Mesa, so headline made me smile

I was displeased that CNN is running reaction graphs of a room of Ohio fatties tonight. But it could be edifying when they get to the Santorum speech.

Any links to a precinct-level results page? I want to see if that 1 precinct from Washtenaw County was mine.

/Doubtful. I was the first voter as of noon, and the entire precinct is out of town for spring break.

Michigan used to be in the central time zone because of its proximity to Chicago. Then daylight savings happened giving the opportunity for the bureaucrats to fark it up.

Oh, and I'm not being anti-Ohio when I call them fatties. I tuned in just at the tail end of the panel. They were all fat except a youngish woman in a rugby sweater.

Hell, they should throw RON PAUL in there too.

As a native of Ohio, I assure you, fatties is an accurate description of a significant portion of our population.

In fact, make that a standing nomination.

We still have states with split time zones? Why are we, as a nation, still dealing with this BS?

Michigan, Indiana, Kentucky, Tennessee, Florida, North Dakota, South Dakota, Nebraska, Kansas, Texas, Idaho, Oregon, and Alaksa are all split. And Arizona has the weird thing with Daylight Savings time and the Indian Reservations.
