I loved that he gained over 55,000 followers during the red flag.

Kese cell phone maybe violated 2 rules - 1) any filming/recording devices for internal competition-related use only (rule 30-6.7-E)

Bob Pockrass @bobpockrass
..and all in-car radios must be analog only .. keypad style radios not permitted. Cell phone is kinda like 2-way radio Rule 20-6.8-A

Bob Pockrass @bobpockrass
Doubt Kese gets big penalty - but theoretically could text CC during red while in car, all other driver-cc radio talk on public frequencies

Bob Pockrass @bobpockrass
why am I tweeting about this? DaleJr said last night in postrace he heard Brad was in trouble for having recording device in car.

I hope he doesn't get in trouble. You can't buy this kind of publicity, and he and the other guys made the two hour red flag entertaining.

Welcome to the 36 hours of Daytona.

He should have passed his phone off to a crew member before the race resumed and had them sending tweets while the race was going on.

I hope they just go, you know what, let's waive the penalties here and appreciate that it was awesome

/unless he's been using the phone to cheat

I figured these type of shenanigans would come from Danica first.

You know, because she's a woman.

NASCAR just announced Brad will not be penalized. Good call. Nice to see a sporting organization with some common sense.

NASCAR @NASCAR
#NASCAR will not penalize @keselowski for his use of Twitter during last night's #DAYTONA500.

NASCAR @NASCAR
Nothing we've seen from Brad violates any current rules pertaining to the use of social media during races. As such, he won't be penalized.

NASCAR @NASCAR
We encourage our drivers to use social media to express themselves as long as they do so without risking their safety or that of others.

Good to hear, it made that red flag a little more interesting and brought a bunch of attention to NASCAR in the process.

That would have been the best.

Then he could wreck and then everyone would blame his tweeting on the accident.

You know they were thrilled when people started talking about this. I started following just for the hell of it. It was cool to see the other drivers just BS'ing. However Nascar will have to make a clear rule or there will be 42 other phones in the car next race.

They probably thought about it, then figured, "well everyone was out of the cars for hours, there were bathroom breaks, Danica Patrick was seen taking off the top of her firesuit, thats a rule violation, people had unauthorized drink bottles on the track, this will be a mountain of paperwork, hell the road caught on fire, fark it!"

Brad Keselowski
@Juan_Pablo_Montoya Dude you ever do a dryer tap? Everyone has done it

Later
@Dale_JR LOL I told JPM #moron to do a dryer tap and he actually did it

@Danica_Patrick Hey babe, I'm going to put it in your rear end #funnybecauseitshoundsdirty

I think Danica had to take a leak, looked like she was trying to find a bathroom...
