"but one prominent state executive did not plan to be there: Arizona Gov. Jan Brewer"

Since when did Arizona become an important state where their governor would be of any consequence? About two people live there and it produces nothing of consequence. Even flying over it to get someplace else is boring.

/hey guyz, remember the halcyon days when Fark would post George Bush/chimp pictures ON AN ALMOST DAILY BASIS??

That W looks kinda like a chimp was one of the few criticisms of him that were not based on his policies or his intelligence. Even then, it was only in jest, like pointing out that James Hetfield looks like the Cowardly Lion.

Sweet jesus. How has this fact eluded me until now?!

Holy shiat, I never noticed that, either!

Are you using "dumbocrat" as a joke? I hope so.

Rightwingers have the mentality of a 12 year old.

keylock71: damitjim: Last I checked, Obama was suing her and trying to usurp her authority over her state... are they supposed to be friends now? Sweep it under the rug?

Yeah, it's called being a professional.

I talk, meet with and am polite with people I don't like all the time in the course of my professional life. I even have lunch with these people on occasions.

It's isn't exactly a foreign concept in business or government.

But, apparently, Republicans are animals who can only operate on pure emotion and rage these days.

Like liberals.

Love him or hate him, the reality is that there's a good chance that Obama will be re-elected... having a good relationship with the President works well for your state. Obama won't go out of his way to screw Arizonans, but I'd imagine

Overfiend: thetubameister: Maher's "New Rules" hits this right on the head - respect the office... unless it's occupied by a black guy, right Brewer?

Oh horseshiat. It is the ultimate troll to throw the race card out everytime someone doesn't like the current president.

The majority of people for whom racism is still alive is the modern day liberal.

Why is it so hard to imagine that maybe a lot of conservatives (and even independents now) just don't think President Obama is doing a good job without it being about the color of his skin?

Grow up man, grow up.

The problem is the rhetoric just got way out of hand over the last couple decades on both sides... I mean, you see the race card here... but I was one of those who got repeatedly called anti-American for not supporting the start of the Iraq war (I wanted more troops in Afghanistan). That said, I disagree with your statement about the majority of people for whom racism is still alive... having lived in rural Oklahoma where you can just drive by klan meetings from time to time, there really are some farked up people out there (AN, WCC not be ting the least of them).

SO MUCH THIS.

Really, you're a grown woman. STFU and sit through the damn dinner.

Diogenes: Brewer doesn't eat dinner. She siphons the life essence of undocumented workers.
