One of the students, uneasy over what could happen, knocked away the coffee cup from his teacher right before she was to begin drinking.

Well we know which one she was sleeping with.

Well, good for them.

Lesson learned, don't murder people.

I didn't know things were so rough that he's now teaching kids.

6/10. The false equivilence gives it away, as does the slashie. But still simple and elequent.

These kids are lucky an expulsion is all they're getting for it. Technically, this is considered an act of domestic terrorism.

I figured it was kind of obvious. But someone really does say that every time. If that's the case, why shouldn't zero tolerance be excessive here too?

Kids are lucky they're not in Tennessee - they've got precedent on the books saying that minors will legally be on the hook for this kind of thing.

The teacher probably would have been fine. If it was a blood thinner it would take a while and there would be signs of it happening before the teacher dropped dead. If it was Zinc phosphide the teacher would have been throwing up which is why it only really works on Rodents which don't have a vomit reflex. If it was a Hypercalcemia compounds depending on the does the teacher would be fine or need to go to the hospital. The problem here is that they are trying to poison a fully grown adult with doses meant for a small mammal.

/Last kid should get off easy as he showed remorse and slapped it away at the last second. The other two need serious treatment in hopes that we can avoid this later in life.

No. This is not domestic terrorism. This is a group of ghetto rats trying to kill their teacher. It is a murder attempt.

...the three students have been transferred from Balderas Elementary to other schools, with two being placed at a community day school named The Phoenix Academy, which regularly enrolls expelled students.

No, you do not know this was a murder attempt. You do know they tried to harm her, but nothing more.

It is, because they made terroristic threats--they were caught on tape threatening to meet the teacher at the door with a loaded .44.

He made the poor decision to claim to be a teacher in order to push Thunder Muscle on the kids.

When I was a kid we sang lots of songs about various ways to violently kill our teachers. The difference is, we didn't actually think killing our teacher was a good idea.

foxtail: No. This is not domestic terrorism.

Um, actually, it is, in Tennessee at least. It's covered under the Terrorism Prevention and Response Act of 2002.

See TCA 39-13-804, Rat Poison is considered a dangerous chemical under that statute. California's definition of domestic terrorism is rather looser.

From TFA: ""I want a clear message sent to those students," said teacher David Cross. "And I don't care if you don't have any prior disciplinary issues. You executed a plan to commit bodily injury on an adult, on a teacher, and we're not going to tolerate that." "

So it would have been OK if they planned on poisoning another student or a minor?
