Earguy: seventypercent: SquiggelyGrounders: 1600+ posts. I didnt realize such trivial things got so much attention. No wonder our political system is farked

This is nothing compared to a Sunday NFL thread.

Oh, if only the show had people's tweets scrolling across the bottom of the screen like my local Philadelphia Eagles show. I'd so twitter-bomb it.

That would be awesome.

Is Billy bombing? Should Jon Stewart come back next year?

cookiefleck: Mistymtnhop: Mega Steve: seadoo2006: Wow, where the hell was Woody Allen? He stood up the Oscars?

Mr. Bigshot is too good for the Oscars now, I suppose. What would his mother say?

I have never, ever understood the Woody Allen appeal.

Same here.. the nervous, anxious adopted daughter banging thing never sat well with me.

She was never his adopted daughter or step-daughter & he really didn't know her until she was an adult.

robsul82: Could be Scorsese after the Hugo love in the technicals, but I'm betting on the dude who did The Artist.

From what I've seen of "The Artist", it should win. I can't wait to sit and watch the whole thing. I'm a sucker for old time Hollywood films.

2012-02-26 10:52:51 PM
pretty clear Scorsese wins?

That's why Milla jovovich is there - just in case Michael Douglas turns she can stop the infection before it starts.

I hate Woody Allen's movies (seriously) but I'm glad he gave Owen Wilson a job.

For those who don't know, before making The Artist, this guy was most famous for making James Bond parody movies.

This is like Jay Roach winning an Oscar.

bobbette: Hey it's Michael Douglas! I wonder if Catherine C-Z is still in rehab or whatever.
/not sure if I read that in reality or blind items

She was just in there for a little while for her bi-polarity . She's fine now.

/I need to lay off the daily Daily Fail.

robsul82: TheManofPA: Didn't someone (one of the presenters) bring up the fact that he was robbed or that he looked upset that he actually lost that night? He definitely should have won over the fricking Mystic River Sean Penn nod.

Allegedly he only attended because someone assured him he had won, and oops, turns out they lied, lol.

He should definitely not do Ghostbusters 3 to get them back (and because he knows it won't be any good if he skips it).

If that is true, screw whoever lied on that. I'm still surprised (but not stunned) that he lost to Penn's blatently Oscar pandering performance.

bobbette: I hate Woody Allen's movies (seriously) but I'm glad he gave Owen Wilson a job.

I've seen most of Allen's films and I don't know, maybe I'm a sucker for these kinds of things, but I think he absolutely shines as a writer and director with his nostalgia movies like Midnight in Paris, Radio Days, Bullets Over Broadway, etc.

All right, Michel Hazanavicius. I like him. Mostly because he took the time to give Adam Kempenaar at Filmspotting a ridiculously long and detailed interview, and I love Filmspotting.
