Amos Quito: Clearly Wyoming poses an existential threat to the USA.

We need to bomb their nuclear enrichment facilities before it's too late.

jso2897: WTF Indeed: Well the first thing they should do is change their name. Everyone knows that Wyoming is Latin for "No State Here". Maybe they would get more attention from the federal government if the other 49 states knew it existed.

Actually, it's Oglala for "WTF are we even doing in this shiathole?"

Its a good start.

Every state ought to be passing similar bills. And I'm sure we will start to see many other states do so.

This is merely the beginnings of a good counterweight to the disintegrating moral and legal authority of the Federal government. They have proven time and again that they are neither interested in, nor capable of, responsibly running a nation-state.

Yeah so I read the Bill. It gives $32000 to reimburse travel and per diem for people from the state to meet with Federal officials to discuss the impacts. Didn't see any mention of aircraft carriers or strike aircraft. $32000 is nothing to them since they are one of the only states in the black.

I don't think this has anything to due with the national government. Didn't you see "Close Encounters of the Third Kind" the wyoming government is now just getting off their lazy asses and using this bill to start gathering info on how to deal with a real alien attack.

It's really frightening how racist this country really is. All that progress we thought we made since the civil rights movement can officially be chalked up to "white people didn't have much to complain about until they stole the White House".

Those wyomingites are so much smarter than the rest of us. that's why their votes count four times as much as the average californian's does.

In other news, wyoming is a place which basically be divided into two groups - dirt poor type people and evil rich white people. i'm not saying that they're evil because they're white or evil because they're rich or any such nonsense - there just literally happens to be a bunch of evil rich white people there, of which dick cheney is a perfect example. basically, they are tax exiles who use the fiction of wyoming residency as a means to enrich themselves. i took a long horse ride in the lands around jackson (something you can do on google earth) and saw dozens and dozens of empty $20m+ megamansions that serve as legal residences for people who don't actually happen to be there like ever.

Having supplies, procedures, and structures in place in the event of various disasters is an excellent idea. Practicing and drilling is also a good idea. But some idiot always has to come along and take it too far.

Good idea: having a couple weeks of food, water, medicine, and emergency supplies in case a natural disaster occurs and regular transportation is disrupted.

GaryPDX idea: having all of the above, and stockpiling ammo to shoot Obama's storm troopers when they come to take you away to the Organizing For America concentration camps.

If I was a Wyomite, I'd be opposed to them wasting my tax money on frivolous expenditures to satisfy a lunatic's paranoid fantasy. Since I'm not, I think it's funny and wish them Godspeed.

One has to wonder, if there is a Really Big Secret out there (the president's past, the truth about 9/11, chemtrails, rainbows in our water, whatever), how come nobody seems to be able to see it except random ... people ... on the Internet? Leaving out the current topic of discussion, why is it that any and all of those not just hot but utterly radioactive topics are apparently concealed by a conspiracy of silence? And how is it that the only people who can see through that massive conspiracy are, by and large, people who have never demonstrated aptitude in anything else?

I'm psychic. This is how this is gonna end, if something else doesn't end it faster:

Wyoming: (TFA)
SCOTUS: Um, states don't have conscription powers.
Wyoming: We would if the federal government collapsed.
SCOTUS: Pass your law then. In the meantime, it's unconstitutional and we can't allow it even in theory.

Why is it the people screaming the most about the government violating the Constitution are the first in line to violate it?

iaazathot: I live in Wyoming, I have yet to meet a teabagger who wasn't a racist nitwit. Eventually they slip up and say n*igger, or make some other foul comment that gives them away. They are a pathetic bunch. I have spent time in WA, MT, and ID and have found similar results. This area is full of right wing kooks.

Even when right in the middle of doing something racist, racists don't like to be told that they're racists. In a way it's a good sign - at least they seem aware that what they're doing is wrong, or at least not socially acceptable.

The haughty "how DARE YOU" attitude always entertains me a bit.

If the population of Wyoming were compared to USA cities, it would be like #25, somewhere around Memphis. Even jokes about the last person still living in Detroit ... Detroit's population at #18 is still >700K. Wyoming is only >500K.

st.bobo: not sure how we get from 'idiots planning for the zombies' to 'RACISTS!'

Conservatives always go a little crazy when a D is in the White House. Clinton and the black UN helicopters, etc. But the level of crazy expressed by the right-wingers following Obama's inauguration is completely over the top. The racism is fuel on the fire of republican paranoia. The birth certificate conspiracy is the most visible symptom of racism - as if there would be any question whatsoever if the Prez were a white guy. With Obama, even after he releases both the certificate of live birth AND the long-form certificate, he's still a Kenyan in the eyes of the totally-not-racist right-wing.

The teabaggers are just klansmen substituting blind, directionless faux conservatism for outright racist rhetoric, when they aren't busy screaming outright racist rhetoric, that is. They need something to scream that isn't "n****r", and the GOP is happy to supply them the necessary substitute. They're so grateful for a direction to spew their outrage that they don't even mind when the direction completely changes direction every few weeks. It's just a place-holder.

Baggers, militia-men, survival-fetishists. The overlap is nearly 100%.

I'm sure the first thing that would happen is that the petty little tyrant wanna be pricks who thought this bill up would start killing each other to be the 'Lord Humungous' of Wyoming. Then they could safely diddle little girls and boys like they do in their fantasies.

Don't be too proud of this derpological terror you've constructed, Wyoming. The ability to herp-a-derp a state is insignificant next to the power of the Forcebongo.
