FROSTING FOR THE FROSTING THRONE

actually, it was the other way around subby - starcraft ripped off warhammer 40k.

changing the subject a bit, even though the parent company of warhammer and all things warhammer related has occasionally made some extremely boneheaded decisions down through the years...they're successful and stable. And they're likely to be here for another 25 years, barring the end of the world as we know it of course...in which case, I look forward to serving our new Necrontyr overlords.

oh and for the record I have two warhammer 40k armies:

Grey Knights (because I love to make chaos players cry)

Necrons (because I like making eldar players cry).

Do NOT tempt me to dump my entire collection of 40K art in here.

That being said, I must offer this:

How many Space Marines takes to screw in a light bulb?

50. One to screw it in and 49 to praise the Emperor.

You've undone years of good work with this post Weaver.

I USED TO LOVE YOU.

It's a spectacular headline.

That's.......that's the joke?

I used to play 40K, and I had a Space Marine army, and I invented my own Chapter, with a tasteful purple and yellow colour scheme.

Yeah, take a look at the original stuff sometime if you haven't. They were pretty obviously just gamer guys that brought in elements of everything that was cool in geek culture in the 80s. Which is fine, but kind of hypocritical when they sue people for ripping them off.

I would have been 8.

I remember seeing the figurines at various gaming cons but for whatever reason, never got into it. I did enjoy Battletech, and Car Wars. Then, I hit puberty.

1000Monkeys: The headline is a obvious reference to this (as well as various trolls).

In the grim darkness of the 41st century there is only Nerdrage about how "Space Marine" is a total ripoff of "Gears of War"

Wow, it's as if that was the same Subby

If only it wasn't so time consuming and expensive to get into. Luckily the novels and recent videogames have been quite nice.

No dude... I got it, and it looks like pretty much everyone else did too. Sorry, but the dummy this time is you.

From TFA:
1. Nothing impresses the ladies like a well-painted one-inch space soldier.

I don't think so. For many, many years whenever a girlfriend or hookup would ask me what was in the metal briefcase in my bedroom I'd just tell her it was my secret shame and leave it at that. I've only revealed the carefully painted Chaos figures in there to my ex of 5 years and my current wife.

Tune in tomorrow for more Weaver95:
"Why would an idiot expect a clock to fly if it was thrown out the window? That's dumb, and you're dumb for saying it."

With all their overzealous IP lawering, they were asking for that, so let them have it.

I like the humor in the Cain series, keeps it from being overly dramatic. The other stuff is still good though
