Just when you though people couldn't get any stupider. Mostly this is a black thing and/or teenage thing. My teenage nephew has me check his Facebook for him when he's banned from it (which is most of the time) and all his friends go on and on about these stupid foam shoes. All they will do is get you robbed, shot, or both. Sorry, I'm not ready to die over tennis shoes.

At some point Nike has to take some responsibility for hyping these beyond belief, then releasing them in extremely limited quantities in the middle of the night, right?

ebay isn't broke...they just got wind of a shiat auction and pulled it...i'd all but guarantee most all of the bids were fake anyway. what's the point.

Congratulations Star Wars nerds, there's people willing to line up and pay exorbitant prices for something much, much worse.

And I'm counting the prequel trilogy in that statement.

My family was really rich when I was growing up, so it wasn't a big deal for me to have Nike Pumps, the newest Jordan's, some imported flashy Converse. It's important that a child wears the most expensive shoes that his family can afford. Like it or not, in middle school and high school, your appearance defines your social acceptance. And your self esteem is tied directly to your social standing. I was the most popular kid all through school, and I think that training has shaped me into the successful salesperson that I am today. I've been to Hawaii more times than I can count. I've been interviewed by some seriously high ranking publications. I sell entire country's GDPs in product, even in down economic times. And if my parents wouldn't have loved me enough to buy me decent shoes, then I may be working as some cubical lackey, living off the bottom scrapings of my trust fund. So, parents, I don't care if you have to take out a home improvement loan - do whatever it takes to make your child successful and they will pay you back in spades.

They can't afford an Escalade or gold teef, but you don't see that stopping them.

I greatly dislike sites with automatically starting video upon page load.

That said... aren't these a brighter version of those awful cheaply-made 80s shoes we had to suffer with?

Its great to see people who can't make the rent this month fighting over overpriced shoes.

Now for the troll:

Too bad they didn't start selling them on election day. It'd keep the Obama voters too busy to go to the polls.

So a few bucks of cheap sweatshop labor churns out this astronomically expensive crap? I admit they aren't as ugly as some of the newer shoes out there, but holy chit is the ugliness intentional? I've pondered similar things about the Auto industry designs as well.

I watched some documentary once about Chinese people who made those beads from mardi gras, they thought Americans cherished the beads they made.
