FiendishFellow05: mikaloyd: Jimmy Johnson?!?!? Where is Tkat? Where is idol?

Heh. I'm no Jimmie Johnson fan, but he's got a sharp paint scheme this year. Love the old school racing stripes.

Itd look better with some flames on it. And wall.

anyone here what happened to reutimann? he is already 6 laps down

I'm never a fan of saying [driver x] would look better in flames/on their roof/hitting the wall, etc. Too much bad karma. That said, if Jimmie Johnson and his cheating bastard of a crew chief had 36 successive engine failures this year I wouldn't mind too terribly.

Monte Dutton @MonteDutton
1 of NASCAR's great oddities: Richard Petty never won a Daytona qualifier race. More testimony that they mean slightly more than nothing.

Oy. OK, you know, I don't like JJ. Chad Knaus gets a pass in my book for trying to keep Smokey Yunick's spirit alive NASCAR's regulations are so restrictive that they take some of the innovation and ingenuity out of the sport.

/How the hell does Joe Nemechek stay up there?

I don't think Sadler's too happy with Gordon right now. That could have been big

I admit it. Most of my contempt for the 48 team has more to do with the 5 straight championship Chase wins. Though I've heard tremendous things about the end of last year's season (I didn't get to watch), I always preferred the original format and grew to have outright contempt for it, for the team, and for Jimmie when he rolled off five straight under it - only two of the five would have been won under the old way of doing things. Yes, they just made the best of the system under which they were told to operate. Never really mattered. Was perfectly happy to hate on the 48 team.

I admit it - if other crew chiefs tried the things Knaus tried and got punished for, I'd probably just chuckle, laugh, yell at a couple of clouds, and mock NASCAR. But I just have contempt for the 48 team. It is what it is.

Aw, I want to see Kenny Wallace make the 500. Doesn't look like it's gonna happen, though.

not only that, but also the way the rules regularly changed to benefit the 48 team. Like when Chad was suspended, he still did everything he normally would, with the exception of being in the box. Hell, he was still in charge even suspended, thanks to live feeds and cell phones & walkies.

the chocolate wonderfall, aside from sounding like a disturbing fetish name, seems like a REALLY bad idea. waaaaay too easy for an asshole like me to drop laxatives into it, catching a whole lotta people unaware.

I wonder if NASCAR is going to do anything else to get these cars cooled down? Five hundred miles of pack racing is going to blow up a lot of engines if there are cars already melting down in a 150 mile race.

I was thinking that myself. NASCAR is going to have to change something, or their "ha ha, we broke up your tandem racing" rules are gonna bite them in the ass.
